Winning jockey Rachael Blackmore remembered 13-year-old Jack de Bromhead in her ITV Sport interview.

The son of trainer Henry died after falling from his horse at a beach race in Kerry last September.

Visibly emotional, she said: "We all wish a very special kid was here but he'll be looking down on us."

On Honeysuckle's success, Blackmore said: "She's a phenomenal mare who has been amazing for my career. She's a credit to everyone."

Incredible scenes here. This is a famous result. The De Bromhead family have gone through such a lot and Honeysuckle has been a shining light.

Henry de Bromhead has to be congratulated. Throughout Honeysuckle's career he has made the right choices for her. She deserved a chance to go out a winner and that wouldn’t have happened in the Champion Hurdle.

    What a swansong.

We'll be asking members of the BBC radio team at Cheltenham for some selections this week.

Former jockey Andrew Thornton, who won the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 1998 on Cool Dawn, has plumped for EPATANTE (8-1) in the Mares' Hurdle (16:10).

"She is a former champion hurdler who will enjoy the extra distance of this trip and can win a very competitive race," he said.

Constitution Hill's win also means jockey Nico de Boinville has now won Cheltenham's big three races after his wins in the Gold Cup (on Coneygree in 2015) and the Queen Mother Champion Chase (on Sprinter Sacre in 2016 before two wins for Altior)

"It's been a big ambition of mine to win the Big Three, but it is all about the horse today," he tells 5 Sports Extra.

"To ride a horse like this is what every jockey wants."

Here are a couple of comments from our race report, which you can read here. It's fair to say you're impressed by Constitution Hill...

One reader wrote: "Quite a remarkable performance … ridiculously easy … never seen it done that simply in a Champion Hurdle and I’ve seen some good uns … monster of a horse."

Another wrote: "The Erling Haaland of the horse racing world."

    16:10 - Close Brothers Mares' Hurdle, 2m 4f

Could this be the most wide-open race of the day? Defending champion Marie’s Rock goes for Nicky Henderson and Nico de Boinville against stablemate Epatante and Irish favourite Honeysuckle, both previous Champion Hurdle winners.

The latter two have opted to swerve the Champion Hurdle in favour of what might be considered an easier option, but their inclusion adds interest to an already intriguing race.

Marie’s Rock marked her seasonal return with an impressive win at Cheltenham’s New Year's Day meeting while Epatante has been well beaten twice this season by Constitution Hill.

But this could be a fitting swansong for Honeysuckle who has shown signs that she is not the horse she was this season but may benefit from the ground conditions in what is sue to be her last race.

Willie Mullins has Brandy Love who despite only finishing third at Punchestown last time, has plenty of promise while Love Envoi could be another challenger.

  20. Cheltenham goes technopublished at 15:55 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2023

The cheering sound of the Cheltenham crowd as the first contest gets under way has become so iconic that course owners, the Jockey Club, have turned it into a techno dance track called 'Roar Remix' featuring DJ Cuddles.

A three-minute composition, it samples the famous Festival roar that greets the opening Supreme Novices' Hurdle.

The Roar Remix will be played live on course on Wednesday, with techno fans encouraged to visit the Best Mate Pavilion for a live set from 15:30 to 17:30 GMT.

"We've really enjoyed teaming up with DJ Cuddles to create the Roar Remix," said Ian Renton, Cheltenham's boss. "It's a dance anthem like no other, which takes the famous Cheltenham roar from race track to club track."
