Corach Rambler is now around 8-1 joint favourite, with last year's Aintree winner Noble Yeats, for the Grand National in April.

Scottish trainer Lucinda Russell won the National in 2017 with One For Arthur.

What a beautiful ride by Derek Fox. A rider with fabulous timing and he showed real tenacity. That is serious prep for the Grand National.

Winning jockey Derek Fox, speaking on ITV: I was told by Peter Scudamore to ride him with plenty of confidence and don't change anything from last year. He's a nerveless horse, he's the horse of a lifetime really.

"It needed a lot of things to go right when you commit to dropping back early. It suits his run style. I am over the moon."

Corach Rambler charged up the inside to make it back-to-back Ultima Handicap Chase wins.

Fastorslow finishes second with Monbeg Genius and The Goffer third.

The Goffer is making his push now with one to go.

Oscar Elite was dead last at one point but making up ground with three to go. Harper's Brook is being pulled in by the chasing pack now.

A bad jump by The Wolf with six to go and he drops into the group at the rear. Harper's Brook continues to lead the way.

Approaching the halfway mark and Harper's Brook leads ahead of Top Ville Ben and then Fantastikas.

Harper's Brook is jumping well and moves a few lengths clear with 12 to go. Fantastikas is still up there.

Bunched up now as they all clear the first fence safely but is Fantastikas who edges out in front.

Cloudy Glen was itchy to get off and darts into the lead the moment the flag is raised.

This is a prep run for the Grand National for Corach Rambler who is carrying more weight than last year.

Don't expect him on the scene too soon. The ground conditions are tiring so he will bide his time.

On we go with the Ultima Handicap Chase up in a few minutes.

Corach Rambler will be aiming for back-to-back wins in this race for jockey Derek Fox and trainer Lucinda Russell.

Twelve months ago, he made a late charge to win by a couple of lengths but his form this season has been a bit disappointing.

One of the big dangers should be Into Overdrive, the stable star of Mark Walford and who has improved in all his runs this season under jockey Jamie Hamilton

If he has recovered from a setback which kept him out of January’s Sky Bet Chase, he could be one to watch.

Willie Mullins tells 5 Sports Extra: "To get on the board early is always fantastic. We have a lot of fancied horses today. You have to temper your expectations because we know at least half won't win.

"I didn't get to enjoy the win because I was looking at Dysart Dynamo. I stopped looking at the winner because I knew he would win. But thankfully both horse and jockey have got up."

Willie Mullins has been the leading Festival trainer for the last four years and victory for El Fabiolo takes him one step closer to a significant landmark.

Mullins, who trained a record 10 winners at the meeting last year, needs 12 in all this week to reach the magical figure of 100.

Could he do it? Definitely difficult, but not impossible - he had a total of 79 runners ready to go for the four days.
