It was Derry's day in the end as they won what was the first penalty shootout in Ulster Championship final history.

You can't help but feel for Armagh who hung in the match throughout and had their noses in front late on but Derry dug deep to win back-to-back provincial titles for the first time in 50 years.

Armagh can still take quite a lot from today. The two teams were so evenly matched. It is so cruel on Armagh but they will still be around this year for a number of weeks to come.

I feel for those Armagh players but unfortunately that is the toughness of Championship football. It's a very special moment for Derry football, winning back-to-back Championships for the first time in 50 years. It's been about unity, being a Derry player this week. Conor Glass had blasted home his penalty and then Odhran Lynch made a superb save from his goalkeeping colleague Ethan Rafferty to set up McFaul for the winning penalty.
