Earlier on, the Netherlands' Anna van der Breggen won a sprint finish to take gold in the women's road race.

It was after her fellow Dutch rider had a horrible crash - although we're hearing she's "OK".

But here's the sprint finish. You can just feel the burn...

That was commanding from GB - watching down the field, seeing all the hugs and hard work.

The quality of the performance, they really have played well. There is some real pace in this team and they should have no fear going ahead.

    Great Britain 26-7 Fiji

What a fantastic day for this Great Britain team.

They've booked a semi-final against either New Zealand or USA with a brilliant, dominant victory against a Fiji team filled with flair.

And that comes after this morning's 22-0 group game thrashing of a very strong Canada team.

Medal chance? You'd certainly think so on this showing.

The Fijian contingent - I think there are some of the men's squad in there - are making themselves heard.

Over goes Abbie Brown again though, turn out the lights. This one is over, 26-7.

    Great Britain 26-7 Fiji

Sustained pressure from Great Britain, can they turn it into points?

They can indeed, brilliant playmaking from Katie McLean, she pops the pass to Abbie Brown, and she runs a wonderful line to cross for her second try of the game.

Arsenal's Serge Gnabry scored from a free-kick in stoppage time as Germany drew 3-3 with South Korea in Group C.

That was Germany's second draw of the tournament which means they remain third in their group. South Korea lead on goal difference from Mexico on four points after two games.

Mexico earlier recorded a 5-1 win over bottom side Fiji, who conceded eight against South Korea in their opening game.

    Great Britain 2-2 New Zealand

Balanced more precariously than an egg on a spoon is this one. Great Britain's men aren't quite in must-win territory yet - but seeing off Group A rivals New Zealand would certainly ease their path into the quarter-finals.

Still 2-2 as we enter the fourth - and final - 15-minute period. GB, ranked fourth in the world, lost their opening match against Belgium remember.

What was said in that huddle?

Great Britain were excellent then with ball in hand, making opportunity after opportunity.

Abbie Brown got the scoring started. This is a lady who moved to sevens last year and really struggled with playing multiple games in a day. She's at it now and so are those around her.

What a performance from Italy's Daniele Garozzo.

I'm not referring to his gold medal win, but his celebrations afterwards.

    Bonkers stuff.

Charging into the arms of his coach, collapsing on to his knees and legging it across the auditorium. And that was all before the referee had awarded him the winning point.

    Great Britain 19-7

    Sir Clive Woodward

We talk about the athleticism of the Australians and the New Zealanders but Team GB have a lot of athletes there.

The Fijian women have been a credit to the tournament. They bring something new and there's no doubt they will be big in rugby sevens.

And that's an excellent way to finish the half.

Joanne Watmore is the beneficiary, but that's poor from Fiji. They're only 10 metres from their own try line, the hooter has gone, but they try and play out from the back regardless.

One fumble and a GB pass out wide later, and Watmore does the simple business of placing the ball down.

    Half-time.

As far as years go, 2016 has been pretty sweet for Johanna Konta.

The British number one has zoomed up the world rankings to a high of 13, won her first WTA title and reached the Australian Open semi-final.

Imagine if she capped it by winning an Olympic medal. The 10th seed's campaign is under way against Liechtenstein's Stephanie Vogt, who is ranked 290th in the world.

Konta almost nabs Vogt's serve in a marathon opening game, her opponent clinging on to the hold after an 11-minute battle.

Alice Richardson has crossed for Great Britain now, this is really going at a breakneck speed.

Katy McLean aims a brilliant kick down field, and Richardson makes use of a brilliant offload to get behind the Fijian defence.
