That is some try. Every Fijian touched the ball at least once, they kept the ball in hand for nearly two minutes, and finally Litia Naiqato crosses underneath the posts.

Team GB really needed to get into their faces and make a tackle there, the Fijians were left to show off their flamboyant skills.

More from Kruse: "If some of the decisions had gone the other way it could have been different. There is a better chance of a medal in the team event.

"It would be massive for our sport in Britain."

This is it then, knockout time for GB's sevens women.

I've just seen the warm-up on the practice field and it's intense.

"Be really clear in your communication!" one of them shouts.

Easily said, hard to execute - but in recent weeks these players have told me about how they work on going to "a dark place" in training so they can make the right calls when fatigue kicks in.

Speaking of dark places. This is under the lights.

Next up are France and Canada, and France have started fastest, controlling possession for the first three minutes, before Jade le Pesq strikes with a try down the blindside.

Could Canada's crushing defeat to team GB be playing on their minds?

Kayla Moleschi says no, not literally of course, but by running in from halfway to level it up at 5-5.

Here come France again, the hooter goes with Canada defending on their own try line... they've dropped it! How much could they regret that?

All square at the halfway point.

There's a gig going on out on the vast plains of Deodoro. I have no idea of the act but fans were singing so they must be big time in Brazil.

Away from the stage, BBC Radio 5 live's rugby correspondent Ian Robertson says the women's sevens quarter finals is where the tournament will get going.

Like me and others he's worried about rain coming in. "A 70% chance" he says for 22:00 BST, just as Great Britain start their quarter final against Fiji. There's no cover on the media seats so Robbo has a waterproof cap. Not too sure it'll survive the downpours they have here.
