As we await the final scores of the eventing dressage, here is GB's Kitty King completing the dressage phase.

This will be an incredibly bittersweet moment for Anna van der Breggen, who collects gold, but her fellow Dutch woman had an awful looking crash while leading the race.

After the first round of dives, it is Chinese pair Wu Minxia and Shi Tingmao into the lead, as expected. They scored 55.8 with their first dive.

GB duo Rebecca Gallantree and Alicia Blagg are lying in joint third on 49.8 points.

The chasing trio can see Mara Abbott down the road, Copacabana beach under cloud to their right. The gap is down to 10secs with 1km to go. Too close to call.

Sweden's Emma Johansson and Italian Elisa Longo Borghini are with Anna van der Breggen trying to hunt down Mara Abbott. There is a gap of 20secs with 2km to go. It's going down to the wire.

It seems Armitstead is too far adrift.

American leader Mara Abbott has come out alongside the beach and is off towards the final stretch. The legs will be stinging - a gold medal is 4km away.

Lizzie Armitstead has drifted slightly from the chasing pack, which includes Dutch woman Anna van der Breggen.

American Mara Abbott has a 35-second lead at the front of the race with 6km to go. The group behind her is about to swell with Lizzie Armitstead set to join them. Can she hold on?

This is going to be an amazing finish.

Annemiek van Vleuten looked in bad shape after that crash. Really hope she's OK.

The women's 3m synchro final is about to start, with Rebecca Gallantree and Alicia Blagg going for Team GB.

The pair won Commonwealth gold in 2014 but they will do well to pip Chinese pair Wu Minxia and Shi Tingmao for gold.

There are three riders 40 seconds behind her - they were chasing bronze but now they're looking at silver. GB's Lizzie Armitstead is chasing them down.
