    After the first round of dives, it is Chinese pair Wu Minxia and Shi Tingmao into the lead, as expected. They scored 55.8 with their first dive.

    GB duo Rebecca Gallantree and Alicia Blagg are lying in joint third on 49.8 points.

    Mara Abbott ran out of puff right at the death. The three chasers sprint past her and Anna van der Breggen of the Netherlands beats Sweden's Emma Johansson to the line.

    Italy's Elisa Longo Borghini secures silver and American Abbott ends up fourth without a medal.

    It looks like Lizzie Armistead has crossed in fifth.

    The pair won Commonwealth gold in 2014 but they will do well to pip Chinese pair Wu Minxia and Shi Tingmao for gold.

    Wu is aiming to become the first diver to win five Olympic titles.

    Australian Catherine Skinner secured gold in the women's shooting trap final at her first Olympic games. 

    Skinner beat New Zealand's Natalie Rooney 13-12 in a closely contested final. 

    Corey Cogdell earlier won bronze for the USA after a shoot-off with Spain's Fatima Galvez.
