If you've not made it to an Olympics you may be at home thinking all this sport goes on in a small geographical area.
Not quite.
Four areas of the city and this one, Deodoro, is sprawling. Here's the road from equestrian to hockey/sevens. It goes on forever. This entire area is military land and this road isn't even open to public for the rest of the year.
If you're flying out here bring walking shoes and a hat. Oh and a bike or Segway if you can get them through customs.
Women's road race
As it stands, this road race is slipping away from Lizzie Armitstead. The six riders in the breakaway have created a gap of 45 seconds. It's not insurmountable but it's a concern.
Among the leaders are Marianne Vos, Ekwna Cecchini and Gracie Elvin.
In the peloton, the USA team go to the front and increase the pace.
There's a big climb coming up with 31.4km to go.
Gymnastics
Samir Ait Said's horrific leg break was one of the stories of the day yesterday, and with good reason, it really was a shocker.
Remarkably though, he wasn't the only athlete to suffer serious injury, after Germany Andreas Toba injured his anterior cruciate ligament.
That wasn't the end of Toba's story though - the 25-year-old was still to complete the pommel horse. If he didn't, the German team couldn't qualify.
"I had to do it. Otherwise we would lose points. It is the Olympics, it's only every four years."

Rachel Vaughan: In every piece to camera with Copacabana in the background, there's at least one pigeon pootling about, quite sweet really
Medal for the pigeon? Where's Dick Dastardly and his Flying Machine when you need him.
Andy Murray 4-2 Viktor Troicki
Another chance for Murray, brought about by his classic repertoire of splendid returns, solid defence, and even that cheeky drop shot we know and love.
15-40, what does Troicki have? No first serve, second serve in, Troicki to the net, Murray passes… but it’s long.
30-40, no first serve once more. Troicki aggressive with the second serve, strong ground strokes, Murray spoons it, has it lobbed his opponent? Nope deuce.
Murray is enjoying these long rallies though, another break point opportunity. Pressure building.
Troicki to the net again, can Murray pass him on the backhand – wide!
Murray break point again, fourth of the game, one has to be converted – massive return from Murray and Troicki goes long! There’s the break!
Women's trap finals
The women's trap shooting finals are underway in Vila Militar.
Italy's Jessica Rossi is the defending champion but she faces stern competition from Fatima Galvez, who is aiming to become the first Spanish shooter to win an Olympic title.
Women's road race
Here we go. Business is picking up. Six riders have launched off the front of the peloton and they are determined to escape. The camera motorbikes are a little in the way between the two groups - they need to clear off sharpish.
Defending champion Marianne Vos is in that breakaway and they have a 23-second lead. It could be a medal-winning move.
We're not getting stuck in to track and field until Friday, but that doesn't mean that we can't get a little bit excited at the prospect...
Women's 400m freestyle
Katie Ledecky may be in a league of her own, but GB's Jazz Carlin has really impressed in those heats.
In setting a new personal best in the 400m freestyle, Carlin qualifies second for tonight's final and will be a strong contender for a medal in tonight's final at 03:01 BST.
Needless to say, Becky approves...
Gymnastics
So far so good for GB's gymnasts after one rotation in their qualifier. Find out if they can keep it up here.
Also, artistic points for the cameraman who grabbed the below shot?
Women's road race
The riders are on their way back along the coast line towards Copacabana, but they will have the climb and descent of Vista Chinesa to tackle.
The German team are at the front of the peloton increasing the pace - all three British riders, including world champion Lizzie Armitstead, are in the mix.
It could all come down to that hair-raising descent before the finish.
There's 40km to go.
Women's 400m freestyle
Katie Ledecky of the United States has just set an Olympic record in the women's 400m freestyle!
Her time of 3 minutes 58.71 seconds is just short of her world record time of 3 minutes 58.37 seconds.
It's Sunday night. You've had a lovely weekend, you're slightly sunburned but not too much, and maybe you have a warm glow inside.
You then realise tomorrow is Monday and you're back at work and the sadness takes hold.
You know what you need to do?

So you're watching at home and you see a side run out for a sevens game. That team have been well warmed up of course but not on the pitch as there was another game on.
Here's the warm up pitch located about 30 metres from the arena. It's great to watch, quick passing, tackle bags, all on the go.

Paul Denny: I love the Olympics. Once every 4 years you find yaself jumping round the front room cheering on #GBR fencing and the like.
Make sure you join us at 20:30 BST for Richard Kruse's fencing foil semi-final, Paul.
Fiji 1-5 Mexico
Fiji, it was fun while it lasted. And Roy Krishna, take a bow sir, you've got an Olympic goal to tell you grandkids about.
Comfortable victory in the end for the defending champions though, and disaster averted.
Women's 400m freestyle
A personal best for Jazz Carlin in the women's 400m freestyle!
She's won heat three in 4 minutes and 2.83 seconds to go fastest overall...
And, with just one heat remaining, surely she's done enough for a place in tonight's final.
