Mo will be under no illusions, he knows he will be up there to be shot at. He knows there is nothing the Kenyans and Ethiopians would love more than to stop him.

Mo is a stronger, happier and more stable person this season. He knows he has done everything he can do to be in the best shape.

Since doing the 5,000m and 10,000m double at the London Olympics in 2012 Farah has completed the double at the subsequent two World Championships in Moscow in 2013 and Beijing in 2015, as well as doing the same in the European Championships in Zurich in 2014.

    That is some pedigree.

Wow. That throw may have just clinched Jess Ennis-Hill another Olympic medal. She is exceptional over 800m.

That is just what she would have wanted and it is a good start for her.

There's 32 athletes out there trying to reach the pole vault final at the moment, so it's not the fastest moving event of the night.

Great Britain's Luke Cutts has safely navigated 5.30m on his first attempt, while Renauld Lavillenie, the French athlete who is the hot favourite to take gold, is yet to jump.

I think Mo is definitely in the shape to do it.

It will be a huge achievement if he does. That has to be underlined because we have got so used to him going out and winning that we take it as given.

I think he has that fear factor and dominance over the rest of the field.

This will be one of the closest 100m finals we have ever seen and it will be down to who can hold their nerve. Fraser-Pryce has done this twice before and knows what it feels like but the others don't.
