Becky James, Britain's new Olympic silver medallist, on BBC One: "I gave it my all. I really wanted to win so I'm disappointed. I felt so good but Kristina Vogel just had the legs on me. She has been an incredible rider and she deserved it. I didn't expect to come here and win two silvers so I'm over the moon.

"I did hear her saddle go crack and it was a close finish. I thought I might just have won it to go to the decider. But I'm still so happy."

Adam O'Neill: Team GB has been simply outstanding in the Velodrome. To each cyclist to come away with a medal is impressive stuff indeed

Sean Nisbet: Tell you what, if the track was 10m longer, I reckon Becky James might have had both of those races. Great race anyway

Nick Hughes: Brilliant by Becky James to come back & win a #Silver after everything she's been through, just amazing.
