Women's 200m
It's a sprint double! 100m champion Elaine Thompson comes off the bend with a decent lead and manages to hold off a fast-finishing Dafne Schippers to take gold!
SHE DIDN'T KNOW SHE HAD WON. How?
Women's 200m final
Here we go. Let's go fast eh?

21.34 - that's the world record set by Flo-Jo. SAFE AS HOUSES.

It is a big, big night for Dafne and Holland. They will have stayed up to watch this because she is the poster girl and they believe she has a realistic chance of a title here. She is ready and I really do think she will be tough to beat.
Women's 200m final
Dafne Schippers is the fastest this year - with a season's best of 21.93 seconds.
Will the winner go faster than that tonight?

The empty seats inside the stadium are probably explained by the large queues outside, with people deciding to arrive midway through the bronze medal match, saving themselves for the main event ahead which starts at midnight, local time.
Having been to a couple of beach volleyball matches already, the atmosphere resembles an outdoor nightclub and Brazilians know how to get behind their team. And it takes a serous amount of energy.

Schippers is the class of the field and Dina is going to have to run that personal best that she got last year of 22:07 to even get close.
Women's 200m final
There are a lot of Dutch fans in Rio tonight. A special night for Dutch, for European sprinting?

Dafne Schippers has been very consistent this year. She has not run as fast as she did last year but this is what she has been targeting, no doubt about that. It is going to be a tough race, very tight.
Dafne will probably not be leading at the beginning but she can do the Usain Bolt type of thing towards the end. He really starts to come through and she can do that over 200m.
Women's long jump
A jump of 7.17m is enough for Tianna Bartoletta to take gold.
Favourite Brittney Reese is second, just two centimetres back, with Ivana Spanovic in bronze.
Women's 200m final
Can Dafne Schippers win the 200m? Or will be a sprint double for Jamaican Elaine Thompson?
GB runner Dina Asher-Smith is in.
Men's 200m semi-final 1
Take a look at GB's Talbot achieving a personal best to finish third in his semi-final. Unfortunately, he didn't make it through to the final as a fastest loser.
Men's table tennis team event
Men's 200m semi-final 2
Usain Bolt had a great start to help him win the second heat of the 200m semi-finals. Here's the heat which saw Bolt even slow down near the end as he was that far ahead.
Women's long jump
Brittney Reese has improved her final jump to 7.15m - but it's two centimetres shy of US team-mate Tianna Bartoletta...
Men's 200m semis
Usain Bolt has just reacted to Justin Gatlin not making it to the 200m final...
"No, seriously? Everybody is in shock, I don't know.
"You can tell from the 100m that he's getting old..."

Gatlin made a bit of a mistake. He relaxed. He didn't realise the others were upon him and then he tried to get back into it but you can't do that with the class of this field.
That was a huge mistake and he will know it. A very strange race.
Yohan Blake had so much time off and is not able to run under 20 seconds and probably ran far too fast for the type of shape and condition he is in. He hasn't had the training yet that can sustain that type of speed.
Tom Fordyce
Chief sports writer in Rio
So both Gatlin and Blake out. And Brittney Reese, red-hot favourite for long jump gold, looking like she will have to settle for silver too. A night of shocks in this sticky stadium.

Well, well ,well, who would have thought that?
But you know what, at the age of 34 the hands of time pass over you and the strength and performances that you had pass over you.
I think we’ve seen the start of that today.
