GB fourth in team standingspublished at 08:35 British Summer Time 24 July 2021

    Men's artistic gymnastics team qualification

Great Britain finish with a total of 256.594, putting them into fourth place. The top eight teams qualify, and there's still another set of teams to go, but they've given themselves the best chance possible of reaching the final.

Max Whitlock is into the pommel final and Joe Fraser is currently fifth in the all-around standings, with James Hall 12th.

Fraser is also fourth in the parallel bars standings, while Giarnni Regini-Moran could still be in with a shout of reaching the floor final.

There's a long way to go, still, but GB are in with a shout in quite a few categories. Not a bad day at the office.

It's the third best score so far.

Iran's Javad Foroughi has won the men’s 10m air pistol gold at the Asaka Shooting Range.

The 41 year old is a nurse in his everyday life, and only started training professionally in 2017.

Serbia's Damir Mikec took silver whilst Pand Wei of China claimed bronze.

Guy Hornsby: A shame to see Geraint Thomas bow out after his crash in the Tour, it was always a hard path. This race is wide open for a punchy attack at the end a la Gilbert but if it gets to a final sprint then surely Wout Van Aert is the man to beat.

Happy fake birthday KD!published at 08:20 British Summer Time 24 July 2021

    Basketball

We know the opening ceremony already feels like a long time ago but this is a moment we feel we needed to share.

One of the biggest names here at the Games is USA basketball legend Kevin Durant. The two-time Olympic champion may be a huge star at the Games but it looks like someone was hoping to knock him down a peg or two...

The Brooklyn Nets star was trolled by his Team USA colleagues as they encouraged the entire contingent to sing "Happy Birthday" to him while waiting to enter the stadium.

The kicker? It wasn't his birthday. It's not until the end of September.

The NBA star looked a little confused but mainly absolutely mortified to have the attention on him in the moment...

    Funny for everyone else though!

GB into final rotationpublished at 08:18 British Summer Time 24 July 2021

    Men's artistic gymnastics team qualifying

Into the final rotation for Team GB - and it's a biggie for Max Whitlock.

The Brit is defending champion in the pommel horse but there's already been some massive scores in the event, notably Ireland's Rhys McClenaghan, who is joint top with 15.266.

In the team standings, GB are sat in a comfortable fourth place . The top eight teams go through to the final, but there's another round of qualifying still to go.
