    Women's 69-75kg quarter-final

    Richie Woodhall
Former boxing world champion on BBC TV

Price has to feint, draw the lead of Bylon and then counter. Bylon is too slow with the attacks. She has a wide stance and the feet are slow. You're not going to catch Price like that!

Round two...published at 05:17 British Summer Time 31 July 2021

    Price v Bylon (69-75kg quarter-final)

Lauren Price is of course the world's number one boxer at this weight. So she beings a certain aura. Throw in her movement and smart feet and an opponent may soon sink into a despair with what is in front of them.

You can sense the frustration from Atheyna Bylon now, she looks like she wants to punch in the clinch and make this a bit rougher. The bell sounds, Price looks content with her work there.

That first round was what we expected, nice and controlled, nice and fast.

    Women's 69-75kg quarter-final

    Richie Woodhall
Former boxing world champion on BBC TV

Price was the busier boxer. You've got to rely on fast reacions if you are going to take the approach of Bylon - and she wasn't quite fast enough.

    Price v Bylon (69-75kg quarter-final)

Steve Bunce has it nailed down there, the bounce Lauren Price shows is eye-catching. She's taken round one on the official cards.

    Price v Bylon (68-75kg quarter-final)

Price is bouncing like Bianca Walkden in the Taekwondo. It is shocking how similar her stance is to the Taekwondo stance.

    Women's 69-75kg

The tactic from Bylon is quite simple. She is not going after Price, she's waiting for her to come in.

    A close opener...published at 05:12 British Summer Time 31 July 2021

    Price v Bylon (69-75kg quarter-final)

I do like the look of Bylon's range. She's holding her feet, watching the more energetic Price move around her and she is poised to pick something out. She's started well the Panama fighter.

Price though begins to show she's finding her timing late in round one, landing one or two. This is a tough fight though for her, high level, no doubt.

Price set for action...published at 05:09 British Summer Time 31 July 2021

    Price v Bylon (69-75kg quarter-final)

Lauren Price, packed with Welsh fight, walks out to a bit of Beyonce.

Atheyna Bylon of Panama makes her way to the ring and she looks like she's going to hold some range over the smaller, stockier Price.

USA Cycling has revealed that BMX racer Connor Fields - who won the Olympic title in 2016 - sustained a brain hemorrhage after crashing during a semi-final race on Friday.

Fields was taken away from the track on a stretcher and transferred to St. Luke’s International Hospital in Tokyo.

A statement said: "After a night in the intensive care unit doctors are pleased to report that there has been no additional bleeding, and no new injuries were found. Fields has been moved out of the critical care unit and will remain in the hospital until cleared."

Field's father Mike told USA Today: "Cognitively, he's doing well. He knows where he is. He knows his birthday. He recognises people."

Rowden pleased but Dustin outpublished at 04:58 British Summer Time 31 July 2021

    Men's 800m heats

    BBC Sport

It was not to be for Oliver Dustin but better news for Dan Rowden - and they spoke to Jeanette Kwakye.

Oliver Dustin: "It's not quite the performance that I wanted. But I know I've learned so much and I will be back stronger for it. I just didn't have it today. Very frustrating because I have been training well."

Dan Rowden: "It's huge to get [an automatic qualification spot]. Getting into any semi-final is great. If you're confident and get through the heats, it bodes well for the next round. Preparation has been a bit tough. I had a great winter and probably will need to PB but I am in PB shape. You expect that at the Olympics."

Now as the medals rain down elsewhere it's easy to forget stuff is getting serious at the athletics.

We've got a women's 100m final later today no less!

Some though are just trying to scrap through the heats and in the men's 800m a couple of Brits have done just that.
