    "I was quite upset with myself yesterday. I've put a lot in this meet and i shouldn't have gone that close to getting kicked out in the heats, so I wanted to come in tonight and give it a bit more.

    "Now tomorrow we're in the finals - that's the job done, and where I wanted to be. It's going to be a good race tomorrow, that's for sure.

    "Obviously Dressel is swimming amazingly well, the rest of the field it's all up for grabs. I want to show the world the work I've been doing with all my coaches this year."

    New Zealand have done it in extra time! They kept hold of the ball for more than three minutes before Gayle Broughton scored the winning try to break Fiji's hearts.

    Fiji still have the chance to win a first women's rugby sevens medal but they will be playing for bronze.

    Great Britain take on France next in the second semi-final.
