GB's Josie Knight: "I was incredibly nervous - I'm with three defending Olympic champions. We gave a good ride, but I think we've got more in the tank."

    Chris Boardman
Olympic cycling champion on BBC TV

It just fell apart at the end for Britain.

It was a very ambitious start to go so far up so quickly, there was a price to be paid. It was courageous, but they blew it apart in the last kilometre there.

They are capable, though, of taking gold. It's strategy that let them down there, not physiology. That's what we've seen here.

Dujradin 'feels so proud' to become GB's most decorated female Olympianpublished at 08:43 British Summer Time 2 August 2021

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Great Britain's most decorated female Olympian Charlotte Dujardin on BBC Radio 5 Live: "It feels great to be back, we competed on the Wednesday and flew home Thursday morning, it is great to be home to see friends and family, and catch up with everyone to celebrate.

"It is so surreal [to be called Britain's most decorated female Olympian], I just feel so proud. I didn't even think it was going to be possible going into the Olympics with a new horse, an inexperienced horse. With the pandemic with the last couple of years, it has been hard to compete, so he went there with very little experience. What he pulled off for me was incredible.

"I think we had an incredible team, to work alongside such incredible people made the game very special."
