That was a stunning routine, she came out and sold that routine. It had a bit of everything, the big powerful tumbles and so expressive.

    Women's floor final

No one is faltering in this floor final so far. The Russian Olympic Committee's Angelina Melnikova puts in another almost spotless routine and it earns her a 14.166.

That pushes GB's Jessica Gadirova into bronze. Can she hold on?

There's four gymnasts left to go.

It is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the Gadirovas. The fact that they are there and taking it all in is a beautiful thing. To be there with your sister is an amazing opportunity.

    It's a 14.00 for Jessica Gadirova!

Excellent effort. That puts her in second place, but we've only seen three gymnasts so far.

Five to go - one of whom is Jessica's twin sister Jennifer.

Well it was massive pressure to follow Jade Carey and she certainly didn't hold back. That was the best in terms of interpretation, but she has a huge gap to make up on difficulty. She could not have done any better on the tumbling.

    Wow.

It is unbelievable that Jessica Gadirova is only 16. There was only one very slight misstep on her first tumble but from there she nailed a seemingly endless number of complicated flips in a routine that was as expressive as ever.

Let's see how that scores, she could be in with a chance of a medal here...

Heatly secured fourth spot after he posted 458.40 points with Laugher's score of 445.05 from his six dives enough to clinch sixth place.

China's Wang Zongyuan led the way at the Aquatic Centre with a score of 531.30 as a field of 29 was whittled down to 18.

That was a fantastic performance, Jade Carey would have been disappointed with the result of the vault where she made an uncharacteristic mistake, but to come out and put in that routine, it was phenomenal.

USA's Carey sets the score to beatpublished at 10:13 British Summer Time 2 August 2021

    Women's floor final

The United States' Jade Carey had a hard time of it in the vault yesterday. She stumbled on her first attempt and that put an end to her challenge.

But the 21-year-old has just come out firing with a tumble-filled floor routine, setting an early mark for the others in this floor final.

Carey's efforts had all of Team USA on their feet in the stands, including defending champion Simone Biles, who withdrew from this event.

The American is rewarded for her efforts with 14.366. That is going to be tough to beat.

Team GB's Jessica Gadirova is up next.

Team GB didn't have the cleanest ride there. It is going to be a very, very tough first round.

Great Britain finish just under two-and-a-half seconds slower than Denmark.

But 3:47.507 is faster than they've ever gone before.

It makes them fourth fastest, which means they would face the fastest team in the first round - Denmark. The winners of that will then progress to the final.

There's just Australia left to go, and they'll actually have to wait till after the women's team sprint finals.
