But it's silver for Great Britain's Tom McEwen. He becomes a dual medallist after helping GB win the team eventing gold earlier.
A couple of errors by team-mate Oliver Townend pushed himself out of the medal positions and a fifth-placed finish, so McEwen moved into second and Australia's Andrew Hoy secured bronze.
