What a bizarre pattern of officiating.

3-2 seems slightly harsh I didn't think Seesondee did very much at all. I thought Dubois did enough there with strong straight jabs.

    Alex Capstick
    BBC Sport

The US Olympic Committee has cleared American shot putter Raven Saunders of breaking the rules after the silver medalist lifted her arms above her head and formed an X with her wrists on the podium.

She said it signifies the intersection of where oppressed people meet.

USOPC said her actions were “respectful of her competitors and did not violate our rules related to demonstration”.

In response IOC spokesman Mark Adams said they’re still looking into the matter. He said these Games are operating “under the Olympic Charter” implying the IOC would decide whether or not the regulations had been contravened.

This is one of the most outstanding world records and I'm pretty sure that world record will outlive me.
