Agonising.
Holly Bradshaw does the exact same as Sidorova.
She shakes her head in the air before falling to the mat, never had enough to make it over

Agonising.
Holly Bradshaw does the exact same as Sidorova.
She shakes her head in the air before falling to the mat, never had enough to make it over
Women's pole vault
The Russian Olympic Committee's Anzhelika Sidorova doesn't even try to get over the bar at 4.90m.
She hopped up and pulled out of the jump early. That could be huge for Holly Bradshaw, who is up next.
Men's gold medal match
Drama aplenty as well in the penalty shoot-out for hockey gold and it is Belgium who are the Olympic champions thanks to goalkeeper Vincent Vanasch's heroics.
It finished 1-1 in the match but Vanasch saved twice as Belgium won 3-2 in the shootout to help seal his country's first gold medal in the sport.
Women's pole vault
Reigning champion Katerina Stefanidi pauses before beginning her run-up and... failing 4.90m.
The Greek remains in fourth and will only have one more attempt to stay in the competition. If she goes out, Holly Bradshaw is guaranteed at least bronze.
Women's pole vault
Stefanidi has decided to pass on 4.85m and will save her efforts for 4.90m instead.
This would equal the British record if Holly Bradshaw can make this.

Look at Holly's face as she went over that at 4.85m. Beautiful jump.
Bradshaw moves up to second.
Women's pole vault
Everyone is fully warmed up now it seems.
American Katie Nageotte also clears 4.85m at her first attempt too. Defending champion Katerina Stefanidi is yet to make it over. If she fails twice more, Bradshaw has got herself a medal.
Women's pole vault
"YES," screams Holly Bradshaw (and most of the BBC office) as she clears 4.85m.
Total legend. She's cleared that on her first attempt. She's got to be on for a medal now.
Women's pole vault
Agreed Sam. V gripping.
The Russian Olympic Committee's Anzhelika Sidorova looks on for gold surely. She is yet to miss a jump and sails over 4.85m.
Here we go Holly...

Sam Hirst: This Pole Vault final is gripping stuff.
Josh: YES HOLLY!!
Women's pole vault
Greece's Katerina Stefanidi doesn't make it over 4.85m at her first attempt. The last clearance of 4.80m was her season's best.

Bradshaw is back into bronze! That is where the early failures for Stefanidi will start to tell.

Two-time Olympic decathlon champion on BBC Radio 5 Live
The most brilliant thing - you spend all of your life training to get to this moment and this shows the kind of person you are, shows your character and it shows if you're a good competitor.
Women's pole vault
YES.
It was all a bit scary as Holly Bradshaw just grazed the bar with her chest but she's made it!
The Brit goes back into the bronze-medal position but it's not over yet. On to 4.85m.
Women's pole vault
American Katie Nageotte squeals in the air as she clears 4.80m.
Reigning champion Katerina Stefanidi goes clear as well to push Holly Bradshaw into fourth.
Bradshaw needs a clearance now.
Women's pole vault
Nope. Bradshaw goes askew, sliding right in the sky to kick the bar off. She still has two attempts at 4.80m though.
Women's pole vault
Now for Holly Bradshaw...
Women's pole vault
Defending champion Katerina Stefanidi is first to step up at 4.80m.
It feels like a straight shootout now, but it's really not been the Greek's day. She brushes the bar off with her legs.
The Russian Olympic Committee's Anzhelika Sidorova remains at the top of the leaderboard as she goes clear. Sidorova hasn't missed a jump yet.
Women's pole vault
After the round of 4.70m jumps, Holly Bradshaw is now just one of four athletes left in the pole vault.
Surely a medal is in the bag here?
She will attempt 4.80m next.
Men's final: Australia 1-1 Belgium
It finishes level so we are off to a shootout to decide gold in the men's hockey tournament.
