GB changeover good?published at 14:36 British Summer Time 6 August 2021

There's a touch of anxiety out there as Great Britain's first baton change was very, very close to the end of the changeover zone.

I think it will be fine but it's a little close.

    Women's 4x100m final

Dina Asher-Smith on leg three managed to run Daryll Neita into contention for a medal and Neita brings home bronze with Jamaica streaking away in front from USA.

We have a bronze bagged and in truth, short of one slightly poor change at the end of leg one, it's hard to see what more could have been done there.

Speaking of the medal table and gold, here's how Kate French brought home the big one in modern pentathlon a couple of hours ago.

**It may be more than a couple of hours. I think it's fair to say we lose any sense of time during the Olympics.

Right then, it's 56 Team GB medals now.

We're fourth in the medal table and we have two teams competing in the 4x100m relay events in the next 30 minutes.

Russia's athletes and Australia are one gold behind us in the medal table so I do believe it's time to open up some daylight.

Show me the daylight people... show me the daylight.

    Muir wins 1500m silver

    Team GB

GB's 1500m silver medallist Laura Muir speaking to BBC Sport: "I don't know what to say - I've worked so hard for so long.

"I've been fourth, fifth twice, sixth and seventh every year since 2015 and with everything last year being postponed and not knowing what was going on - I got a silver!

"I just tried to be as best prepared as possible for any situation and I just trained as hard as I could that this would happen and I've been so nervous all week. Why is the 1500 at the end?!

"I want to thank everyone supporting me, Mum, Dad and Gran they're all supporting me at home. And Jemma [Reekie] I couldn't wish for a better friend and training partner. And my coach Andy has sacrificed the last 10 years for that four minute performance.

"It felt like 3.54 because it was hurting - that last 100m I don't think I've ever been so scared in my life that someone was going to come past me and I would drop to fourth. I just tried my absolute hardest in that last stretch.

"I don't know if that national record will be broken but that medal is mine."
