Mariya Lasitskene's success in the women's high jump had wider consequences for Team GB.
The gold for the Russian Olympic Committee moved them back above Great Britain in the medal table on the penultimate day.
Earlier, Britain climbed up to fourth with their 20th gold in Tokyo but that tally was matched by the ROC after Lasitskene's win.
Team GB have won 63 medals in total, leaving them two short of the total at London 2012 (65) and four short of Rio 2016 (67).

Chopra won the men's javelin at Tokyo 2020 to give India its first ever Olympic gold in athletics.
Joe Choong won gold in the men's modern pentathlon to seal an Olympic double for Great Britain after Kate French triumphed in the women's event.
Afterwards, Choong joked he couldn't let French take all the limelight! :)
British cyclist Matt Walls' superb Olympic debut continued as he won a second Tokyo medal with silver in the men's madison alongside Ethan Hayter.
That came in an event described by 1992 Olympic pursuit champion Chris Boardman as "a boxing match, a 100m sprint and a relay race put in a blender".
I might get some needle for this but... I think that's been a good yarn this fortnight.
People have certainly cottoned on to diver Tom Daley's intriguing hobby - knitting has been trending on social media after he gave the pastime a shout-out following his bronze medal earlier on Saturday.

Men's 10m platform
After winning an emotional gold alongside Matty Lee in the synchronised 10m platform final last week, Tom Daley added another medal to his Tokyo 2020 collection with bronze in the individual event.
Josh Kerr won a brilliant bronze for Team GB the men's 1500m, with the second fastest time ever by a British athlete.
No wonder the Scot looked like he could scarcely believe it...
Men's flyweight
Galal Yafai won Team GB's first medal of the day with gold in the men's flyweight final.
The 28-year-old from Birmingham beat Carlo Paalam of the Philippines to win GB's 19th gold medal of Tokyo 2020 and their first in the boxing ring.
After winning gold, there was this heartwarming convo between the newly-crowned Olympic champ and his brother - and pro boxer - Kal.
Phew! Not a bad way to finish the penultimate day of the Olympics, eh?
