    Michael Johnson
Four-time Olympic gold medallist athlete on BBC TV

Speaking about USA's winning 4x400m relay team:

When Allyson Felix is your weak leg, it shows the standard of competition!

I didn't think they were going to be able to threaten the world record because Allyson would be tired.

But that was a great performance by them!

I was surprised not to see the Jamaicans up in there but Poland - as we predicted - were there.

    Brazil 1-0 Spain

    Ahh he's done everything right!

Brazilian Richarlison has already missed from the penalty spot and he's just smashed another effort against the crossbar.

He did all the hard work - timing his run, remaining onside, wrong-footing the defender, but he hit it straight at Unai Simon from close range and it's tipped onto the crossbar.

Excellent save. Richarlison can't catch a break!

Brazil lead at the break thanks to that goal from Matheus Cunha and despite Richarlison missing a penalty earlier in the half.

The 2016 champions are contesting the gold-medal match for a third straight Games, having lost to Mexico at Wembley in 2012 before finally ending their Olympic ‘curse’ on home soil at the iconic Maracana five years ago.

Spain, a squad packed full of Euro 2020 stars, were many people's favourites coming into the tournament so they have work to do.

GOAL - Brazil 1-0 Spainpublished at 45+2 mins

    Matheus Cunha

Brazil have finally broken the deadlock! It's sloppy from Spain.

Claudinho curls it in deep from the left, it's kicked up into the air at the back post by Dani Alves who is stretching to keep it in play, and Pau Torres fails to get his head on it.

In comes Matheus Cunha, who takes one touch then absolutely smashes it into the back of the net, right on the stroke of half time.
