Joe Choong leads and looks composed. You can see he's starting to think about the shoot, just wiping the sweat from his eyes.
That was incredible shooting by the Briton as he is out of the range and putting pressure on the chasers

Amazing shooting from Joe Choong! He flies out of the second range. GB's James Cooke is going along nicely too.

Three-time reigning world champion Mariya Lasitskene had been struggling for form in 2021 but her first 2m clearance of the year in July was well timed.
She will start as favourite along with Ukraine’s Yaroslava Mahuchikh. The 19-year-old won silver behind Lasitskene in Doha, claimed European indoor gold in March and tops the world lists both indoors and outdoors in 2021.
Lake, who is expected to be the 12th athlete to jump, appears in her second Olympic final after recording a personal best to qualify.

Holly Smith and Denver have been saved for this competition.
In the middle part of that combination of a very difficult tight stride, the horse just took his eye off it and they also went into the water on the next part.
Unfortunately, it all just fell apart. They finished under the time but with 16 faults.

The starting order for the showjumping team final is the reverse of the rankings in the team qualifier – but after the first two athletes from each team have competed, there is a 20-minute break during which an intermediate (as-it-stands) classification of the teams is established.
This is used to determine the starting order of each team’s third athlete, which will be in reverse order of their team’s intermediate ranking. In case of a tie on penalties among teams which have completed the initial round without any team.
A team’s score is calculated by adding together the penalties incurred by its three athletes. If there is a tie on penalties for the gold medal, there will be a jump-off against the clock involving all three of the team’s riders.
