All going smoothly so far for Greek third seed Stefanos Tsitsipas.

In the only match currently on court at the Ariake Tennis Park because of the wet weather, Tsitsipas has taken the first set against Frances Tiafoe of the United States.

Looks like there are signs of activity on the outside courts, though. Which means Andy Murray and Joe Salisbury are not too far away from starting their men's doubles match...

Hello, what is this. A complete turn up for the books in the women's 100m breaststroke as USA's Lydia Jacoby comes through to take the gold.

Her team-mate Lilly King had not lost a 100m breaststroke race since 2015 and was the reigning Olympic champ but she is pushed down to third with South Africa's Tatjana Schoenmaker winning the silver.

Murray & Salisbury forced to waitpublished at 03:31 British Summer Time 27 July 2021

Wanting to know how Andy Murray and Joe Salisbury are getting on in the tennis? You will have to wait a touch longer.

Most of today's action at the Ariake Tennis Park - which includes the British pair in the men's doubles - has been delayed by at least an hour because of some wet weather.

Murray and Salisbury, who beat French second seeds Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert in their opener, face German pair Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz for a place in the quarter-finals.

However, Greek third seed Stefanos Tsitsipas is playing on the Centre Court - where there is a roof - against Frances Tiafoe of the United States. Tsitsipas leads 3-0 after breaking Tiafoe from 40-0 in the American's first service game.

Like so many of the athletes competing for Team GB, Mahama Cho has an interesting back story.

Born in the Ivory Coast, Cho arrived in London aged eight, where his father, a former African taekwondo champion, was teaching the sport, supplementing his income by working as a taxi driver.

He also is presumably quite a handy footballer after having trials with Dagenham and Redbridge when he was younger.

He finished fifth in Rio in 2016 and was the only member of the GB taekwondo team not make the podium. Bet he is keen to put that right this time around.

Would certainly help for the selfies.

Now time for those quotes from Duncan Scott and Tom Dean who have been talking to BBC Sport as their silver and gold medals sink in.

DS: "Just a massive credit to Tom Dean, that was unbelievable. Olympic champion - he's come along so far in the last 18 months, it's a pleasure to watch.

"It's great to be able to say he's a good mate out of the pool. It's great being able to compete against him as well.

"Obviously I'm delighted with that. For me massive credit to my coach Steve Tigg. I wouldn't be standing here without him. The journey I've been on with him since I was about eight years old has been phenomenal. I'm just buzzing for Deano to be honest."

TD: "I knew it was going to be a dog fight. I didn't know how people were going to swim it. It was just race to race.

"Thanks so much to everyone back home, my mum, my family, my girlfriend, all the boys back in Maidenhead, thank you for staying up."
