Women's team final

It's over to the vault for Team GB... And all three gymnasts score over 14. A great effort!

First up it's Alice Kinsella with a 14.266, before twins Jennifer and Jessica Gadirova both nail a 14.433. Superb stuff!

Bianca Walkden is unmoved after claiming victory. She didn't come for copper, she came to top the podium.

Poland's Kowalczuk dissolves into tears as the hooter sounds.

Walkden's bronze follows her third-place finish at Rio. Will she have one more shot at taking an Olympic gold? She is 29 years old but Paris is only three years away...

Ten seconds left...bronze on the line...

GB's sloppiness in possession has proven costly. Canada get away through Ashley Lawrence down the left, it's cut-back across the area and West Ham's Adriana Leon is unmarked as she smashes it first time into the back of the net.

That goal will move Canada top of the group unless GB can respond.

Bianca Walkden got a bye thought the first round, unlike Aleksandra Kowalczuk. Is that going to give the Briton a little extra freshness as the fighters head into the final round?

Walkden's up for the fight, it's often difficult if you lose the semi-final to raise your game afterwards.

She needs to get a kick through the defences.

It will be difficult to win a competition all on punches.

Great Britain are a bit sloppy in possession sometimes and that's the only threat that Canada really pose - when Great Britain give it away and they hit on the counter-attack.

Bianca Walkden enjoys the better of a cagey opening round. A lot of cat and mouse, not so much blood and thunder.

The Briton is up 4-2 against the 24-year-old Pole Aleksandra Kowalczuk.

Kowalczuk's coach is very animated at the changeover.

It's the vault next for Team GB on their third rotation.

It is going to be very hard for Bianca to get over this.

She's been working for five years and won everything there is to win in the sport.

So I know what she's going through - she's distraught!

She probably feels like the world is crumbling beneath her but she's still got to go out there for that bronze medal.

Go for bronze like it is your gold!

Bianca Walkden emerges back into the arena to cheers from the small pocket of Team GB athletes and support staff. Jade Jones is there to cheer on her housemate.

PSG forward Jordyn Huitema and Chelsea's Jessie Fleming are on for Canada.

Manchester City's Janine Beckie is off.

Back under way for the second half of Team GB's final group game in the women's football tournament.

They are already into the quarter-finals and a draw with Canada will seal their place at the top of the table.

Japan are still level with Chile in the other group game.

Across the gymnastics community the main question will be, is she [Simone Biles] okay?

That's the main concern when a gymnast takes themselves out of a competition.

The fact she's still in the arena is a good sign but let's just hope she's okay.

Bianca Walkden is next up on the taekwondo mat.

The Briton was one second way from fighting in the gold-medal match, losing her +67kg semi-final to South Korea's Lee Da-bin, who landed a decisive head kick in the very last second.

Instead Walkden will take on Poland's Aleksandra Kowalczuk to try and snatch the bottom step on the podium.

I've been keeping an eye on Simone Biles and she has been flexing her ankle, perhaps that's a sign of where the problem lies but obviously huge shock when she left the arena after first rotation.

It's sparked questions as to what it could possibly be.

We can perhaps imagine that it's a precautionary measure, as she's made all five of the individual finals.

The good news is that she's still here and that she's fit enough to stay and support her team.

In the lead up to this competition she was talking about the weight on her shoulders, describing it as a 'big weight to bear' in a social media post before this team final.

Simone Biles is human after all, it's a huge mental burden she's carrying and a physical one too.

We just wonder what effect this will have in the events to come.

We're expecting to see Fran Kirby at some point in the second half for Team GB.

Meanwhile, her Chelsea team-mate Jessie Fleming is warming up for Canada at half time.

Women's team final

We're still waiting for an update on the reason for Simone Biles' withdrawal from the team final.

After the second rotation, the Russian Olympic Committee top the leaderboard with 88.498, with the reigning champions the USA in silver position on 85.998 and Italy have now edged into bronze position with 83.031 following their vault rotation.

For Team GB, Jessica Gadirova produced an excellent floor routine for a 13.833 which takes her team to 79.199 overall.

French teenager Althea Laurin has beaten Aminata Charlene Traore of Ivory Coast in the first bronze-medal match in the women's +67kg Taekwondo.

Bianca Walkden will take on Aleksandra Kowalczuk of Poland in their +67kg bronze medal contest at 13:00 BST.

Great Britain want to get through with a clean sheet mentality which was been important for them.

Everyone is fit and healthy and they're moving into the quarter-final. Squad rotation has been good, Great Britain have dominated possession and they've had the better chances. It's just got to click a little bit more in the final third and they have to be more clinical and decisive in their passing.
