England coach Steve McNamara nervously taps his pen as the clock ticks down on his side's chances. Australia force another drop out from behind the sticks as Sam Tomkins is unable to return Cooper Cronk's brilliant kick.

"What is massive is for Gareth Widdop and Sam Tomkins to really step up to the mark here and urge their guys forward. They have fallen away from that over the last 20 minutes."

Australia are winning the arm wrestle now - can England muster the strength to drag them back? Not yet. Another chance goes begging for the Aussies. There is an offloads towards Sione Matautia on the right touchline, but the ball sneaks just behind the teenager.

"England need to create themselves some field position. They need to get on with it."

Australia have had 60% of possession in this half.

Fifteen minutes for England to salvage something here. Brett Ferres goes deep with a kick, the England pack gamely chasing down Aussie winger Josh Mansour. Australia have possession again, like they have for most of the second half.

"A switch went on for Greg Inglis, it has changed for him in the last 20 minutes. He has become a threat in the defensive line and others around him have got space too. The momentum has shifted very quickly."

England are forced into the drop out and Australia take advantage. Big time. Half-back Daly Cherry-Evans goes forward with ball in hand, picks a hole in the English defence, before playing in the supporting Greg Inglis. He doesn't say no to these opportunities.

Cameron Smith confidently knocks over the extras. Advantage Australia.

Australia are looking menancing now - that swagger which we are all used to seeing has returned. They are helped by England winger Josh Charnley making a complete hash of a high bomb, Kallum Watkins diving in like Peter Schmeichel to tip the ball out of play.

"England have to keep their heads here and get back into their scheme of things, get back into what they were doing so well and not be dictated to by Australia."

Ooooh, big chance for England. The visitors looked to be on the ropes momentarily, but stagger off them as the Aussies take a backstep with a knock-on. But then George Burgess hands the ball straight back.

"A super tackle by the England defenders on Greg Inglis. I was just going to ask, what is Ben Hunt's role in this side but he read Cameron Smith's kick well and collected it."

  16. CONVERTED TRYpublished at 06:32 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2014

A huge effort from the England defence keeps out Greg Inglis - not many do that - but they are punished when the ball is recycled. Quick-thinking from Cameron Smith, who sticks through a cheeky grubber that is scooped up and grounded by Aussie debutant Ben Hunt. Simple kick for Smith in front of the posts - Australia back within two with a quarter of the match left...

Hunt is making his debut - and the half-back replaced Sam Thaiday. A big throw of the dice by Aussie coach Tim Sheens.

The area Australia always want to seem to attack is where Kallum Watkins is - it is where they almost scored in the first half.

The Aussies roar back with a decent six of their own, England's full-back and winger getting in each other's way, before Sam Tomkins gathering instead of his old Wigan mucker Josh Charnley.

The teams are trading sets like a pair of heavyweight boxers trade heavy blows, before England are penalised to hand ball and territory to the home side.

Another completed set from England ends with another inch-perfect Matty Smith kick. The Wigan scrum-half punches a low scuttler between full-back and winger, leaving Josh Mansour with a big old return...
