The rugby league community was shocked and saddened by the sudden death of Keighley Cougars player Danny Jones in May.

Wales international Jones felt unwell during a match and later passed away. He was just 29.

His widow, Lizzie, is at Wembley this afternoon and will shortly sing Abide With Me.

"It's an indication of just how long it is since Hull KR won the Challenge Cup at Wembley that the legendary Eddie Waring was the man at the microphone for the BBC the day they beat city rivals Hull FC 10-5 in 1980 - their only ever triumph in this competition.

"Rovers were then back at Wembley the following year, losing 18-9 to Widnes when 'Uncle Eddie' did his last Challenge Cup final commentary in 1981.

"And Ray French was the BBC rugby league commentator when Rovers last appeared beneath the Twin Towers in a Challenge Cup final in 1986, narrowly losing 15-14 to Castleford."

BBC One is showing a wonderful montage of memories from Rovers' 1980 win - watch live television coverage by clicking on the play button at the top of the page.

Leeds Rhinoswon the Challenge Cup for the first time in 15 years last summer, and are one more win away from retaining their trophy.

Victories over Huddersfield Giants and Hull FC secured their passage through to the last four, where they faced St Helens - at that stage, their closest challengers in Super League.

A wonderful encounter finished 24-14 in Leeds' favour, with veteran prop Jamie Peacock scoring the try of the match.

Albert Kelly has trained all week, he is fit and ready to go. There was never any doubt that he would be playing. We know we are a better team when Albert is playing. We have worked really hard since the semi-final since he got the injury.

Hull KR entered this season's Challenge Cup at the fifth-round stage, a round earlier than Leeds, because of their final Super League position in 2014.

They saw off Bradford Bulls and then won at Wigan Warriors to reach the last eight, before narrowly overcoming Catalans Dragons at home in their quarter-final.

Rovers were underdogs in their semi-final with Warrington Wolves, but Ken Sio's try helped them to a 26-18 win at Headingley that confirmed their spot in today's Wembley final.

It is a David and Goliath scenario - that fabulous Leeds team at the moment and Hull KR, who no one is really giving a prayer, except themselves.

Who will win the Lance Todd Trophy?

To win a big final, you need your key players to shine.

Last year it was Leeds winger Ryan Hall took home the Lance Todd Trophy, the award given to the Challenge Cup final's man of the match, and there are plenty of contenders to follow him in 2015.

A perfect swansong for Kevin Sinfield? Zak Hardaker or Kallum Watkins to enhance their growing reputations? Perhaps Josh Mantellato or Shaun Lunt if they're able to end Hull KR's long wait for a Challenge Cup win?
