    England 0-4 Scotland

England search an opening, but Wigan Warriors half-back George Williams' grubber kick is palmed out of play by club team-mate Lewis Tierney.

A dropout for England, who have a repeat set. Can the Scots hold firm at the back?

  2. Postpublished at 11 mins

    England 0-4 Scotland

Scotland's discipline is starting to slip already by giving away back-to-back penalties.

Not what you need when you have Chris Hill running at you.

Scotland are not overawed at all here and thwart an England attack via Luke Gale's boot.

That really was a stunner. It was a well constructed set from Scotland, a really well executed play.

It has been a pretty good start from the Scotland side. They are deserving of the lead.

    WOW.

What a start for Scotland, who score from their first attack of the game.

The England backline looked rather slow there, but Kane Linnett won't mind after giving his side the lead.

The home crowd in the Ricoh Arena have been silenced.

Danny Brough misses the conversion, sending it just wide of the posts.

Oh my. Scotland work the ball to the left towards North Queensland Cowboy Kane Linnett, who barges over in the corner.

    Will it be given??

    England 0-0 Scotland

England prop Chris Hill, of Warrington, takes too much time after a tackle on Liam Hood, allowing Danny Brough to gain territory with a penalty.

It sets Scotland on their first attack of the game...

Once again Scotland will be pretty happy with that defensive effort. The pressure forced the error.

That is just what Scotland needed.

    England 0-0 Scotland

What Scotland do not need it to give away silly penalties.

Big burly prop Luke Douglas is whistled for keeping his hand in the ruck and England go on the attack with a strong run from Scott Taylor, but skipper Sam Burgess drops the ball inside the final 10 metres under pressure from the Scots.

The Scots escape and will be pleased not to have conceded in the early exchanges.

    England 0-0 Scotland

A few "oohs" ring out from the crowd as Scotland's Adam Walker is smashed in the first tackle by England's Scott Taylor. Boom.

More subdued from the England players while singing God Save The Queen.

I make that a try and conversion to Scotland for the anthems. They clearly won that one.

Four ways England can improve at Four Nations

The good news for England is that a big part of where they went wrong against New Zealand is not too difficult to solve.

The Four Nations game was there to be won for Wayne Bennett's men, particularly in the first 20 minutes when they squandered a couple of excellent opportunities.

But they failed to get the right people in position at the crucial play-the-balls.

  19. 'We have to play our game'published at 17:28 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2016

    England v Scotland (17:30 GMT)

England head coach Wayne Bennett: "Last week the effort was outstanding. They played with real commitment. The frustrating thing was that we had opportunities and didn't grab them and that cost us the game.

Asked how the players were in training this week after the defeat: "Pretty good. They got on with life like I tell them too.

"I expect us to play our game and not be worried about who Scotland will play. That will be our best chance. If we think about Scotland that won't help. We need to carry on where we left off last week.

"I understand it is big deal for Scotland. We need to play how we want to play and handle what Scotland throw at us."

When asked what he would like from George Williams, who starts in the halves tonight, he said: "Talk would be nice."
