CONVERTED TRY - Australia 34-8 New Zealandpublished at 74 mins

    Boyd Cordner

That puts the bow on the Aussie win. Having moved to within striking distance, Boyd Cordner takes Jonathan Thurston's pass and slams his way to the line over two Kiwi men.

    Thurston adds the extras.

Oh. That is a clear penalty. Shane Ferguson jumps but is still mid-air as he is taken out by Joseph Tapine. Tapine gets a boot to the head during his offence but that is his own fault.

Seven minutes to go. The Four Nations is heading to Australia but at least New Zealand are competing to the end.

It's 8-4 since half-time and New Zealand have certainly played a lot better and been assisted by a few penalties. Defensively they've worked really hard to keep this Australian team quiet and it's a great response to the half-time debrief.

TRY - Australia 28-8 New Zealandpublished at 68 mins

    Jordan Kahu

The Kiwis are in again! Jordan Kahu is on a one-man mission to reduce this deficit. After an initial break from Jason Taumalolo, who breaks past two men before the Aussies give away a penalty for holding in what is the fifth, Kahu receives an off-load before darting for the line, riding a tackle and reaching to touch down just over the whitewash.

Soak it up they do. New Zealand sense a chance wide right but Lewis Brown is forced to try and palm the ball on and sends the ball flying in to touch.

Another penalty for New Zealand. That is the fourth in the last few minutes and it means a little lecture for Cameron Smith and more pressure for the Aussies to soak up.

Probably the loudest noise of the day came when the Kiwis scored their try.

Well, that was up until their was the hint of a little bit of biff. The more this game becomes scrappy, the more it seems to suit the Kiwis.

    Australia 28-4 New Zealand

New Zealand sense the chance for more points after Matt Scott gives away a penalty after a quick play of the ball by the Kiwis. Their hopes increase further as Johnson's kick prompts a knock-on from the Aussies. A rare repeat set.

You feel Australia's high standards have just dipped a little as they've obviously got the game won.

Now it is kicking off. Australia waste a chance to score on the break with Darius Boyd's loose pass going behind a team-mate who had a clear run to the line. In the aftermath, Josh Dugan is greeted by some raised boots as he looks to tackle, sparking a minor melee.

The Aussies have been completely dominant so far in this Four Nations final. With the World Cup next year, can you see anyone preventing them winning that tournament?

  14. try

TRY - Australia 28-4 New Zealandpublished at 57 mins

    Jordan Kahu

A very popular try. Jordan Kahu is in for New Zealand as they overload the Aussies on the right. It was a great offload from Proctor to get him in.

It comes from the first concerted period of sloppy play from the Aussies who gave away two penalties near their own line.

Kahu hits the post with his kick.

They've played with some great structure but also with some great instinct, this Australian side.

Oh, so, so close to another Aussie try. Shannon Boyd rolls past tackles with ease before the ball is worked wide left for Valentine Holmes. Having taken the tackle, he dives and reaches to try and score right in the corner but he is just out of touch.

    Australia 28-0 New Zealand

New Zealand survive by the skin of their teeth. Somehow, the Aussies keep the ball alive on the third tackle, with some superb flicks. Kenny-Dowall manages to prevent the try but he is tackled in his own try area. The Aussies go again. They have had 12 repeat sets so far this game.

Bromwich is on for New Zealand, replacing Eastwood.

Meanwhile, the Aussies are on the attack again. Kenny-Dowall has a mental lapse, palming a kick behind on the last for a drop-kick. A catch would have given them a tap on the 20. Could prove costly.

    Australia 28-0 New Zealand

A high Tapine tackle gives New Zealand a set of six to really test to Aussies defence. The crowd are behind them but despite the best efforts of Shaun Johnson, they are unable to break through and relinquish possession with a panicked loose pass on the last. I don't think they have any belief that they can break this Aussie defence.
