The big concern for England is what is going to happen to Jermaine McGillvary? If he gets banned for this bite he'll be a big loss.

  2. 'We were hard done by'published at 11:03 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2017

    England 29-10 Lebanon

Lebanon half-back Robbie Farah: "When playing a team that is one of the best in the world, you need the rub of the green or at least a fair go, but I thought we were hard done by.

"Credit to our guys, if anything we earned a little bit of respect.

"We just hung in there when things weren't going our way - to hang in there for 80 minutes, I cannot praise our boys enough."

On an altercation with England's Jermaine McGillvary, who the Lebanon player said bit him in the second half: "You never like seeing those things on a footy field - it is pretty clear what happened when you see the replay."

  3. 'We can keep improving'published at 11:02 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2017

    England 29-10 Lebanon

England hooker Josh Hodgson: "We were good in the first half, competed really well. In the second half, we gifted them too much possession. We will look to fix that up but happy with the win.

"Lebanon have got a big pack and we had to match that and our middle was really good. It's a long road to the World Cup final but if we can keep improving we have got a chance."

Mark H: England: the whole decidedly less than the sum of its parts but get a win with plenty of time learn from this and improve.

Paul Attrill: Very impressed by the Lebanon rugby league side. Real heart

Che Seabourne: Brian Noble understandably breaking ranks to query some refereeing decisions - that last one was never forward I am afraid!

  5. 'Tough test for England'published at 10:58 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2017

Good win for England and a tough test. At one point you thought England would romp away with that but hats off to Lebanon they stayed in the game. I was very impressed with them.

  7. DROP-GOAL - England 29-10published at 10:55 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2017

    Gareth Widdop (80 mins)

Gareth Widdop sees the opportunity to pop an extra point on the scoreline, and drops one over from in front of the sticks.

Jermaine McGillvary is in... but that's a forward pass from Kallum Watkins.

England worked it nicely to the right and McGillvary was in acres of space to place down over the whitewash, but the winger's effort won't count.

  9. 'Lesser teams would have folded'published at 10:53 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2017

    England 28-10 Lebanon

    Iestyn Harris

I've been very impressed with the resilience of Lebanon. Lesser teams would have folded. England will be very disappointed with conceding that try.

Brad Fittler will probably be the happier of the two coaches - England have been a little flat in the second half.

Now then, what can Lebanon do in these final few minutes? It's Jason Wehbe trying to bring them forward again, but the try-scorer knocks on 30 metres from his own line.

TRY - England 28-10 Lebanonpublished at 75 mins

    Jason Wehbe (75 mins)

The video shows it's a good grounding from Jason Wehbe - superb finish from that range.

Mitchell Moses' kick falls wide, but it's a strong end to this game from Lebanon.

  14. TRY REVIEWpublished at 10:49 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2017

    Jason Wehbe (75 mins)

Alex Twal pirouettes 10 metres out, there's no route through the England defence. Lebanon opt for the right side again and the power of Jason Wehbe.

He bulldozes his way towards the line - was that down?

No try on the field says the referee.

Mitchell Moses sends a low kick into the legs of Jermaine McGillvary from close range and it ricochets out of play - the Cedars get another shot at the line.

They work it right, but England scramble well to stop the overload on the far side. It'll be another set for Lebanon though.

  16. 'Switched on till the end'published at 10:46 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2017

    England 28-6 Lebanon

    Iestyn Harris

It's probably the first time Lebanon have put pressure on England in the second half. England need to be switched on till the end in every match if they want to progress in this competition.

That was a good kick and chase, full credit to Lebanon.

Robbie Farah spins on to Mitchell Moses, who flicks one back inside in the England half and as the ball works its way back to Farah it is a smart kick from the half-back - those two have shown glimpses of their class when given the opportunity.

Lebanon are enjoying a spell of pressure inside the final 10 minutes. Can they work something here?
