    England 28-6 Lebanon

Lebanon have made 100 tackles more than England out there - clocking up 304 so far. It's been some spirited defence.

England's line is up quick to stem each Lebanon reprieve, but the Cedars get a way out there as Wayne Bennett's side concede another penalty and Robbie Farah sticks it deep into touch.

Ben Currie goes for the line, but he's held and Lebanon slow down the play-the-ball. George Williams then tries his luck, jinking and dancing, but finding a sea of green shirts in his way.

It's creative from England, but not clinical at the minute and and as possession changes hands, James Graham gives Lebanon some relief as he concedes a penalty for rushing in when the referee had already called held.

I think Lebanon would rather give away a penalty than concede quick play-the-balls. That is the mentality they are locked into.

That looked a little forward from Robbie Farah, but referee Ben Thaler waves it on and it's scooped up.

But here comes Jermaine McGillvary, powering deep into the Lebanon half and England will get another set as the Cedars concede the penalty.

And again. Sloppy from Lebanon in the last few minutes. Another repeat set.

Scurrying run from John Bateman as the England centre shrugs off a tackle and sets the position for Luke Gale to try and tickle a kick into the corner.

The Lebanon defence regroups and they make good ground of their own off the boot, but England are penetrating with every attack and the Cedars are forced to start from just outside their line again.

George Williams has come on for Stefan Ratchford, with Gareth Widdop moving to full-back. I'm looking forward to watching Gareth playing at full-back here. He has played a lot of his career in that position.

Jonathan Davies said England could hit 50 at the break, that might be a way off now, but can they add a few more scores in the final 20 minutes?

Lebanon are looking for a response, Robbie Farah finds the corner with a smart kick and that keeps England just outside their own line.

Super, super try. It was James Graham who came off the bench who started it with a nice bit of skill. Great try from Tom Burgess, he still had a lot to do.

James Graham did not get flustered and read the situation so well, picking out his pass superbly.

The smile on the England's players face when Burgess skipped past his man was amazing.

CONVERTED TRY - England 28-6 Lebanonpublished at 55 mins

    Thomas Burgess (55 minutes)

Well, I was about to say we'd gone 15 minutes with no score in this second half, but then Thomas Burgess goes powering through the middle from way out.

It's superb ball from James Graham to send Burgess into space 30 metres out, and then he throws a neat side-step before sprinting home.

Gareth Widdop sticks the extras on.

It's about patience. You have to take an extra yard for your passing. If England can keep hold of the ball, Lebanon will run out of steam.

Luke Gale finds a nice weight on his bouncing kick to get Lebanon back-pedaling and force the drop out.

It's getting heated again though... Elliott Whitehead is told to walk away. No need to get involved there. England have Lebanon pinned in their own half.

England have got the size to go through the middle and create some space. That is where they can match Australia - but the Kangaroos are then very precise are taking opportunities and that is the challenge.

George Williams on the bench is a very talented player.

Neat footwork from Gareth Widdop to find Elliott Whitehead, but the big forward's run had come way too early as he collected that grubber. Way offside.

Whitehead then shows his defensive capabilities to force a Lebanese attack into touch on England's left and earn his side possession.

Paul Allison: Scrappy isn't the word for the start of this second half

    England 22-6 Lebanon

The England pressure is building again early in this second half. But Lebanon's scrambling defence is so far standing strong.

The Cedars get the scrum 10 metres from their own line. England are up quickly, though, and it's hard for the competition's lowest ranked team to make much ground - but that's a wonderful dummy from Mitchell Moses before he scampers down across the half way.

Pure inspiration from the Lebanon half-back. Lebanon eventually kick downfield and the ball goes dead.

England have the scrum inside the Lebanon half. Chris Heighington takes the hit and England work it left, but Kallum Watkins is wrapped up.

Gareth Widdop looks to go central, he dinks a kick beyond the Lebanon try line and the Cedars are forced out.

But that's pulled back for an England penalty for a late hit on Widdop.
