    Wales 6-34 Ireland

Can Wales finish their tournament on a positive note?

They're applying some pressure to the Ireland line and Philip Joseph crashes over, but he's called back - Ben Thaler had already blown for the big forward to play the ball.

Josh Ralph's kick goes long. Ireland get the game back under way.

Wonderful pass from McIlorum. A full 20-metre pass, right on the money

Another try for Ireland, their sixth of the day.

Brad Singleton is stopped just short following a powerful Joe Philbin run, but Ireland get a repeat set after Steve Parry fingertips a pass forward that was aimed for Liam Kay.

Philbin is held up again, but Ireland uses the numbers on the left to find Kay at full speed and he touches down right on the touchline.

Liam Finn adds the extras from wide out. Five out of six for him.

It's the unforced errors which have killed Wales in this World Cup.

Courtney Davies catches one in the face. He'll have to go off, with Matty Fozard coming on.

Ireland have possession though, and make good metres towards the half-way line before Kyle Amor spills the ball in a tackle.

Chance for Wales? No, Steve Parry drops from dummy half and looks frustrated. Some tired limbs out there.

It was that penalty from Craig Kopczak late in the set. It means you have to do back-to-back defensive sets, which is very difficult to do.

Ireland will want to cut loose now.

Wales will hope that try doesn't open the flood gates like it did towards the end of the first half.

They enjoy an extended spell of pressure near the Ireland line, though, having won the ball back following a short kick-off.

But they are met with a solid defence from Ireland, and there's no way through for the Welsh.

    Oliver Roberts (66 mins)

Kyle Amor, fresh from a stint on the bench, uses his first opportunity with the ball to front up the Welsh defence and run hard at his opposite man.

Craig Kopczak is penalised for holding, and that gives Ireland another crack.

They go left, teeing up Oliver Roberts from close range for the Huddersfield man to drive his way over for his second try of the day.

Liam Finn is - once again - on target with the extras.

    Wales 6-22 Ireland

Wales are enjoying much more possession in this second half, and with that looking a lot more of a threat.

But they need to respond to an Api Pewhairangi break here, as the Ireland try scorer powers his way through one tackler, only to lose his grip on the ball at another.

I'm confused. I thought that was clear-cut, certainly with the way it was set up as an on-field try decision.

You have to be absolutely certain to overturn it. For me, that looked like it was on the line.

Wales have a stay of execution.

How can Wales respond to that scare?

With a superb set to take them to the half way, and a scintillating break from Josh Ralph.

The half-back sees a gap, opens his legs and scorches deep into the Ireland half, but it's an untimely slip for the youngster and Ireland recover as he loses his footing.

  13. NO TRYpublished at 09:06 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2017

Oliver Roberts is deemed to be short, it looked like he lost control before he finally touched the ball down over the whitewash. Video ref Robert Hicks certainly thought so.

It's been coming, hasn't it? Ireland have been patchy to say the least in this second half. They've made too many errors.

Ralph just went flat with the ball, and a great, great line from Morris.

Super finish from Morris. Can they build on that now?

Wales have been much better in attack since the break, and they get their reward.

The Welsh manage to build on their pressure with a flowing move down field and it's a fantastic, flat pass from Josh Ralph that Ben Morris takes at full speed 10 metres from the Ireland line to power in and reach over.

    Lovely move.

    Courtney Davies adds the extras.

For a team like Wales, if you're unable to build pressure you're unable to post points. They had a chance there and they released pressure.

Michael McIlorum is back on the field. That means danger signs for Wales. He's a genius at being able to do the right things at the right time.

Well played Josh Ralph. Superb hands from the youngster as he gathers a kick drifting beyond his own line and spins out to find a pass that puts Wales on the attack almost in one motion.

    One for the showboat reel.

That's a high, swirling kick from Liam Finn that causes problems for Wales and the Irish win the scrum.

They go right, with Scott Grix darting in to join the line before the full back is stopped.

It's swift hands to go left again from Ireland and Oliver Roberts attempts to power over from close range, but there are plenty of Welsh bodies in his way.
