I think this is what you might call 'touchpaper lit'.

It is absoute bedlam out there. Both teams running hard. Bashing into contact.

Hull FC concede a penalty for trying to slow down the ruck. Meanwhile, half-back Chris Atkins has his nose put back in place. Looks an eye-watering one!

    Thomas Minns, con Ryan Shaw

Well that is instant impact from Hull KR. They targeted Hull's right edge where Bureta Faraimo would have been through Justin Carney and Thomas Minns - and smart interplay and a 'one-two' creates the opportunity to score.

Smartly taken, Ryan Shaw tips over the extras and we're all level.

  3. RED CARD - Bureta Faraimopublished at 13:05 British Summer Time 30 March 2018

    Hull KR 0-6 Hull FC

Shuddering shoulder-charge, high, no arms. All the ingredients for a red card and that is the punishment handed to Bureta Faraimo.

He smashed into Chris Atkin, knocking the head back. It doesn't look nice, in real-time or in slo-mo.

The crowd cheers, Hull FC boss Lee Radford looks incredulous but even he must accept that was out-of-order.

Not even played 10 minutes and we've had a try, some mini-scuffles and some inventive play.

Hull FC move comes to an end by virtue of a forward pass. Let off because they had the line in their sights.

Meanwhile, Rovers on the charge through Justin Carney, who is pounced upon by a swarm of Hull defenders. It was a bit like lions circling and converging on an antelope.

    Hull KR 0-6 Hull FC

First bout of fisticuffs between Josh Griffin and Lee Jewitt ends with a penalty for Hull after holding.

Both happy to have a dig there but quickly split by referee Chris Kendall.

Hull get another penalty, Mose Masoe stripping the ball. Can't afford to keep handing these opportunities to a dangerous side.

Big statement of intent from Hull FC early on in this derby, the set-up play for the first effort by Mickey Paea created a huge hole in the Rovers defence.

Rovers need to get a grip quickly here, mind you they know as much as anyone that no lead is safe in these games.

    It's a rollickingly good start.

Former Salford and Wales forward, BBC Radio Manchester

Salford haven't helped themselves. They were in control, but there have been some fundamental errors, like giving away penalties, which have let the Dragons back into this game.

Well, well! Mickey Paea was about to score but the ball was knocked out of his grasp...

But then as the loose ball travelled, there was Danny Houghton on his return to ground it and give the Airlie Birds the lead!

Big, big play from the returning skipper. Marc Sneyd bangs over the conversion.

Half-time at the AJ Bell Stadium, with Salford holding an eight-point advantage after a scrappy first half.

Early tries from Jake Bibby and Niall Evalds put the Red Devils in control but Catalans haven't given up, with Fouad Yaha replying.

    Hull KR 0-0 Hull FC

    Massive moment for Hull FC.

It looked for all the world that Mickey Paea was going to dot the ball down but Adam Quinlan pings it away as he's grounding.

    It's gone upstairs as a no-try.

No lack of physicality in the first set, thunderous tackling, hard running.

End of the set was poor by Chris Atkin, last-tackle play kick out on the fll and suddenly Hull FC have good ball in range...

Slightly cloudy but the sun has just about poked its nose through.

    Not far off now.

Like Albert Kelly, Scott Taylor is another member of the club of players who represented both clubs in this derby, having spent four years at Rovers before joining Hull FC after a stint at Wigan.

"I'd have a guess at 12 or 14, I played in maybe six or seven with Rovers and maybe six or so with Hull," Taylor told BBC Radio Humberside.

"It's the best derby in Super League, I absoliutely love it. I've not played in one for a while. Because of the duties with England I've not managed to play in the friendlies either.

"It's great to see the banter, the week leading into, the days after, and if you're a fan this is what it's about."

    Fouad Yaha

Catalans make their numerical advantage count and get themselves on the scoreboard.

It's hardly a classic try, in fact it's downright scrappy, but Tony Gigot squeezes a kick in goal and Fouad Yaha scores in the corner.

Gigot misses the conversion attempt from the touchline.
