    Salford 12-0 Catalans Dragons

There's been a break in play as Catalans scrum-half Samisoni Langi takes a huge hit and Salford forward Weller Hauraki is sent to the sin-bin.

Could this be the chance for the Dragons to take a foothold in the game?

The game was in the bag. Two years ago in the Good Friday derby with Hull FC, Rovers were 20-0 up with almost an hour gone on home turf, and coasting.

Some whirlwind twenty minutes later, they had lost the game 22-20 after a remarkable comeback from the Black and Whites.

Much has changed at Craven Park since then, with then-Rover Albert Kelly now a Hull player and tryscorer Ken Sio also departed.

Another change has come at the helm. Head coach Tim Sheens has won a World Cup and Australian Premierships, but will sample the unique atmosphere for the first time.

"I've read about the derbies and spoken to the players to understand how important it is and we'll be ready for that," he told BBC Radio Humberside.

"The intensity will be there, you put 11,000 people in this ground you'll cut the atmosphere with a knife.

"With us missing last year everyone is looking forward to experiencing it again."

Albert Kelly. Once the hero of the East Stand at Craven Park, now the darling of West Hull in black and white.

The mercurial Hull FC half-back is one of a growing band of players to have crossed the city to wear their rivals' colours.

Kelly has been a key part of the Airlie Birds team in the past two seasons, helping the club to Challenge Cup success last term.

What reception will he receive? Will it temper his maverick play? All questions we can't wait to have answered.

    Salford 12-0 Catalans Dragons

It already looks a long way back for Catalans.

We're almost 20 minutes in at the AJ Bell Stadium and the visitors from Perpignan haven't been close to the Salford line yet.

The Red Devils are growing in confidence.

While Hull FC are boosted by the return of their talismanic hooker Danny Houghton, Rovers are without two vital components of their side in counterpart Shaun Lunt and stand-off Danny McGuire.

Homegrown talent Matty Marsh fills the halves void left by McGuire alongside Chris Atkin, while it could be an 80-minute stint for Tommy Lee at dummy half.

    Back-to-back tries for Salford!

Rob Lui breaks the line and, with Niall Evalds on his shoulder, finds the full-back who touches down under the posts.

Having landed a conversion from the touchline, Lui makes no mistake from in front of the sticks.

Big news for Hull KR is the absence of Danny McGuire and Shaun Lunt - more on that in a minute.

Meanwhile Hull FC have hooker Danny Houghton back after injury, and powerful prop Mickey Paea - another of the ex-Rovers clan in their squad.

Big afternoon for back-rower Jordan Lane... his first full, competitive derby experience.

    Jake Bibby, con Rob Lui

And there's the first try of the day. There was no reason to believe it was coming as there had been no flow to the game so far.

But suddenly, Salford show slick hands, Niall Evalds comes into the line and slips a pass for Jake Bibby to score in the corner.

Rob Lui adds the extras from the touchline via the inside of the post.

It might be a stretch to say any fondness has been nurtured between the east and west of the city of Kingston-upon-Hull, as we look towards the first Hull KR v Hull FC derby of 2018.

However, the return of this one-city derby to Super League after a year away will be celebrated regardless.

Hull FC are the team in the ascendancy, with back-to-back Challenge Cups, but Rovers have mastercoach Tim Sheens at the helm.

Form and status always go out of the window in these games anyway...
