Shades of Castleford v St Helens in 2017? Luke Gale did it again with another last gasp drop-goal in one of the most memorable sporting moments of the year.

After a four-month absence, Super League has come back with a bang thanks to a pair of cracking games.

Leeds rescued victory from the claws of what looked like certain defeat and bagged top spot in the league in the process. This is why we love this sport.

We get to do this all again next weekend but for now, thank you for joining us.

  2. 'Our boys played with belief'published at 20:47 British Summer Time 2 August 2020

    FT: Huddersfield 26-27 Leeds

Leeds head coach Richard Agar told Sky Sports:

"When we look at the first half, we were very ordinary and that's doing us a favour. Errors and six agains led to a lot of momentum for Huddersfield.

"At half-time we felt we could flip the momentum around but we started off the back of another error.

"At times it's hard to stop momentum and I thought we were too far from home at one point but once we got to two scores, our boys played with belief."

  3. 'We lost our way'published at 20:46 British Summer Time 2 August 2020

    FT: Huddersfield 26-27 Leeds

Huddersfield head coach Simon Woolford told Sky Sports:

"For some reason we lost our way. We had opportunities to put them to the sword but we didn't do that.

"If you lead by 20 points that should be enough to win. We defended our line good for most of the game and our scramble was good.

"We lost our way after kick-off and we weren't good enough to stop them in the end."

  4. 'I have no idea how we won'published at 20:43 British Summer Time 2 August 2020

    FT: Huddersfield 26-27 Leeds

Leeds half-back Luke Gale told Sky Sports:

"I have no idea how we won. For 60 minutes that's exactly how we didn't want to play. I was speechless, we kept gifting it them.

"Once we start playing, we've got loads of belief. If I had a dream last night, that's probably how I dreamt it would finish.

"[On his winning drop-goal] The lads know I like to set up and I said 'Get us within 40 and I'll do it.' It was drifting wide and I thought it hit the post but I'll take it for our first game back."

    Incredible! What a stunning comeback!

Konrad Hurrell storms into a crowd of Huddersfield players like a wrecking ball and he successfully grounds the ball as he goes down.

Another mistake from Robert Lui and this time it's a lack of concentration as he spills a short pass from his Leeds team-mate.

Leeds coach Richard Agar looks deeply frustrated. That could have led to the critical try they need.

A consolation try or the beginning of the Leeds fightback?

Luke Gale, credit to him, batters his way through a wall of Huddersfield bodies to crash over the line.

Rhyse Martin can't find the extras, however.
