Both of these teams have looked incisive and sharp.

There have been a couple of handling errors in the middle where they bash each other, but on the fringes Lee Gaskell and Richie Myler have looked really sharp, as have Aidan Sezer and Luke Gale with their kicks.

Any worries you may have had after months without any Super League action that things might be a bit stale on its return have been pretty much wiped out today.

St Helens picking up as if they played just last week against Catalans and now this thriller of a fixture.

It's good to be back. Don't write Leeds off just yet, they're looking refreshed with Richie Myler's return.

I've just noticed Robert Hicks has grown a beard. And what a beard it is. An authoritative referee beard if I've ever seen one.

Anyway, in terms of actual match action, things have calmed down a little bit after a frantic 10 minutes or so.

All 12 points have come from Lee Gaskell's vision. He's seeing space that a lot of half-backs wouldn't see.

    Darnell McIntosh

Two quickfire tries from Darnell McIntosh and Huddersfield look very, very good this evening.

McIntosh once again runs in at the corner in similar fashion to his first. Leeds look rudderless.

Aidan Sezer misses the kick from the touchline.

    Huddersfield 8-6 Leeds

Richie Myler has passed his head injury assessment and will return very soon and that will be good news for Leeds, who are struggling to deal with the speed of Huddersfield at the minute.

The visitors - if that's the right word to use in this bio-secure 'neutral' venue match - are in the ascendency.

This match isn't even 20 minutes old, yet! What a thrilling start.

Oh how I've missed Super League.

My word what is going on!? Well you can't say Huddersfield have sat back after Leeds went in front!

Darnell McIntosh scores his first try of the season as he runs in at the corner to restore the Giants' lead!

Aidan Sezer misses his second conversion of the match, however.

    Konrad Hurrell, Rhyse Martin goal

It's given! Konrad Hurrell crosses over for his fourth Super League try of the season for Leeds Rhinos.

Brad Dwyer starts this set off superbly and offloads to Luke Gale who's keen running sends Hurrell through to beat four Huddersfield players to the line.

Rhyse Martin makes no mistake with the boot to send Leeds ahead.

    Huddersfield 4-0 Leeds

Konrad Hurrell races to the corner as Leeds pounce upfield courtesy of some sensational running from Luke Gale.

We've gone to the video ref again but surely this is going to be given!

    Huddersfield 4-0 Leeds

Ash Handley's moved to full-back for Leeds as Richie Myler comes off for a head injury assessment.

Myler's had a busy old 10 minutes or so!

    Huddersfield 4-0 Leeds

Blimey, just as Leeds win the ball back...after Huddersfield had cheaply lost the ball themselves, they manage to knock on!

What a bizarre sequence of events, but a massive let-off for the Giants.

  13. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Huddersfield 4-0 Leeds

Richie Myler has touched down for Leeds but referee Robert Hicks has taken it to the video referee to see whether he actually grounded the ball before being held up by Huddersfield.

It doesn't take long before the big screen shows 'No Try' but Huddersfield struggle to get out of Leeds' 10 and lose possession almost as soon as trying to break upfield.

    Huddersfield 4-0 Leeds

Huddersfield certainly have their tails up since their early score and they're certainly bossing the possession at the minute.

They're taking the game to Leeds and keeping them well penned in their own half of the field.

  15. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Huddersfield 4-0 Leeds

Richie Myler's down with what looks to be a head injury. The Leeds man looks to have just bumped off Aidan Sezer's knee as he was going to ground.

Nothing intentional, but he's being checked out as a precaution.

Quick as a flash, he's cleared to continue.

I was going to say at the start of the show that I thought Huddersfield needed a good start... you don't get a much better one than that, do you?

    Louis Senior

This is clever stuff from Huddersfield who are well worth their early lead thanks to Louis Senior's quick work in the in-goal area to ground the ball.

He does well to work on to Lee Gaskell's grubber kick. It goes to the video referee but there's no denying it and the Giants are ahead.

Aidan Sezer misses the extras, however.

    Huddersfield 0-0 Leeds

We're getting on for 19:00 and it's still a balmy 18C in Leeds this evening!

Neither side seem too bothered about this fact, at least in these early stages, as they exchange blows in amongst running upfield at a frantic pace.

To be honest it's easy to be in awe of this level of fitness when you're sat watching this having eaten copious amounts of biscuits and crisps.

    Huddersfield 0-0 Leeds

An impeccably observed and poignant moment's silence has been observed and referee Robert Hicks carried the ball into the centre of the field and hands it off to the Huddersfield Giants.

After both sides take the knee immediately following the whistle, we are under way.
