    Louis Senior, Aidan Sezer goal

    Game over?

Aidan Sezer is the catalyst for this one as Huddersfield make their man advantage count as he hands off to Louis Senior to score his second of the match.

Sezer makes no mistake with the boot to add the extra two.

  2. SIN-BINpublished at 61 mins

    Huddersfield 20-6 Leeds

Ah Leeds' frustrations are now boiling over as Ash Handley is sent to the bin for dissent having intercepted right on his own try line from an offside position after Huddersfield pressed the Rhinos.

That yellow card has come after a succession of penalties given against Leeds and a warning from referee Robert Hicks.

  3. Postpublished at 61 mins

    Huddersfield 20-6 Leeds

James Donaldson is now sitting on the sidelines having been taken off on a stretcher earlier on.

The Leeds man is said to have a lower back injury but fortunately it's not serious.

    Great news.

    Huddersfield 20-6 Leeds

Huddersfield break upfield yet again from a valiant Leeds break to try to force a try of their own.

However Jake Wardle spills his reception of a quickfire offload and Leeds win another set of six but the Rhinos concede a cheap penalty soon after.

Do either team actually want the ball?

  5. Postpublished at 57 mins

    Huddersfield 20-6 Leeds

Huddersfield win a set of six deep in the Leeds half. Can they force yet another try and put this match to bed?

The answer is no, as they cheaply lose the ball within moments of winning it back.

A stretcher has been brought on for James Donaldson. Looks like this break in play could be extensive.

    Fingers crossed he's alright.

  8. Postpublished at 51 mins

    Huddersfield 20-6 Leeds

There's a break in play as James Donaldson receives some treatment on the field.

The Leeds forward looks in a fair bit of discomfort and it would appear his evening is over.

    Huddersfield 20-6 Leeds

Robert Lui looks to atone for his earlier error as he kicks towards the Huddersfield in-goal area to set up Ash Handley to touch down.

However it's not to be as Huddersfield easily collect the ball back.

  10. try

TRY: Huddersfield 20-6 Leedspublished at 45 mins

A SENSATIONAL hat-trick of tries for Darnell McIntosh!

My word, Leeds just don't have any luck this evening. Robert Lui looks to offload on Leeds' third tackle as they drive towards the Huddersfield try line.

However he mistakenly hands possession to McIntosh who runs the length of the field to score.

Aidan Sezer kicks the extras right in front of the posts and this could be an unassailable lead.

As previously mentioned earlier in our live text coverage, Toronto Wolfpack have dropped out of Super League in 2020, after the off-field impacts of coronavirus made their position untenable from a financial and logistical standpoint.

Today's double-header should have been a triple, with Hull KR set to take on the Canadians before their stepping down.

Dialogue continues as to whether the Wolfpack will return in 2021 as proposed, but Rugby Football League chief executive Ralph Rimmer understands the mitigating circumstances behind this season's withdrawal.

"I have every sympathy for them," he told BBC Radio 5 Live. "No home games possible this season, they didn't have access to the government support [£16m loan] we managed to secure and they aren't beneficiaries of the central distribution so all in all absolutely understood.

"It's disappointing, nevertheless we're here today and we're looking and feeling really good today."

Earlier, in the first part of today's double-header, St Helens turned in a superb performance to see off Catalans Dragons.

Huddersfield score a tryImage source, PA Media

Full credit to Huddersfield. They've done their homework defensively, they know Leeds' threats and shut those down, and been absolutely incisive.

The three or four times they've had the ball in Leeds' 20-metre area, they've scored three tries.

  16. Half-timepublished at 19:23 British Summer Time 2 August 2020

    Huddersfield 14-6 Leeds

That's the hooter and what a half of action. Huddersfield have bossed that opening 40 minutes and as it stands, they're heading for the top of Super League.

Leeds have some serious thinking to do. They've been off the pace for much of that half.

  17. PENALTY: Huddersfield 14-6 Leedspublished at 39 mins

    Aidan Sezer

Aidan Sezer finally kicks some points for Huddersfield and looks like they're taking an eight-point lead in with them at the break.

Huddersfield win a penalty in kicking range. This could be going from bad to worse for Leeds.

Luke Gale looks to have weaved a way through on Leeds' fifth tackle and he works the ball over the line.

However referee Robert Hicks blows his whistle for obstruction in the build-up and Gale is livid.

What have Leeds got in response to what has been a pretty dominant Huddersfield display in this first half?

Well Robert Lui looks for a way through as they race to the try line but the Giants hold firm and force the turnover.

    Leeds look frustrated.
