    Leeds 6-6 Salford

Another good chance for Salford goes begging.

Niall Evalds strides away after an inside pass and tries to kick the ball over Leeds full-back Richie Myler, but Myler grasps it.

He's been in excellent form in an unfamiliar position for the Rhinos in recent weeks.

    Leeds 6-6 Salford

Salford are doing pretty well to limit the effects of Luke Gale's kicking game at the moment.

The Leeds captain, under pressure, aims for the touchline but bangs it against his own team-mate and the Red Devils get the ball back 10 metres inside their own half.

Salford look energised after that Rhys Williams try and, after a penalty helps them gain some ground on Leeds, Kevin Brown's high kick on the last tackle comes to nothing.

That is a brilliant try. The awareness of Kallum Watkins to take the ball under pressure and get the pass away.

Salford have come here to play and they will chance their arm. What a brilliant finish.

    Rhys Williams, Krisnan Inu goal

Salford respond! Out of nothing! Rhys Williams goes the length of the field to score!

But Kallum Watkins deserves his share of the credit, taking a high kick near his own try line and offloading quickly to a team-mate.

That creates the opportunity for Williams to race clear of the opposition and score a memorable cup final try.

Krisnan Inu makes no mistake from the tee and we're level again.

What a pass to Tom Briscoe from Konrad Hurrell. He is such a big lad and attracts attention and then slips the pass away. It's a winger's dream to play outside him. It's brilliant centre play.

    Leeds 6-0 Salford

As Leeds head coach Richard Agar intimated before kick-off, Salford have hardly ever been in front during their run to Wembley.

The Red Devils love playing the role of underdogs and proving everyone wrong.

    Don't write them off yet.

  9. try

TRY: Leeds 6-0 Salfordpublished at 12 mins

    Tom Briscoe, Rhyse Martin goal

Tom Briscoe LOVES scoring in Challenge Cup finals and he's done it again!

Leeds work the ball to the right and Briscoe just about stays in the field of play to dot down in the corner.

That's seven in five cup final appearances for Briscoe, who scored a record five times in the 2015 win over Hull KR.

Rhyse Martin adds the extra two from the touchline, with a little help from the post.

    Leeds 0-0 Salford

That Salford break is the closest either side have come. There haven't been many fireworks yet, but plenty of commitment and aggression - as you'd expect in a cup final.

Salford's Kevin Brown sends a super kick out of play within inches of the Leeds try line.

Brown has appeared in three previous finals for three different clubs and lost them all. Will today be his day?

    John Kear

Salford have been putting pressure on Luke Gale.

They have come here and will not let Luke Gale manage the game like he wants to. He will have to play really well to have the same impact on the final like he had in the semi-final.

    Leeds 0-0 Salford

Salford come VERY close to the opening try with a wonderful move down their left touchline.

Kevin Brown's quick pass lays the platform for Krisnan Inu to break clear. The winger tries to kick inside for the onrushing Niall Evalds, but Evalds can't grab it and Leeds collect.

Leeds start as clear favourites with the bookies but Salford will hang on in there.

I think this will be a very close encounter.

Neil Armstrong was still a couple of months away from walking on the moon when Salford last appeared in a Challenge Cup final. Their last (and only) win was in 1938, before the outbreak of World War Two.

As a neutral, it's really good to see fresh colours at Wembley.

Broly 'The Phenomenal Adonis': Not sure who I want to win this. It would be great if Salford win after waiting for 51 years to get back there. It would be great if Leeds won it because they're doing it for Rob Burrow. I just hope it's a good game.

Michael Lavelle: Abide With Me before the cup final has always been special but for me it’s even more special this year. My nan was a huge rugby fan, she’s the reason I’m the rugby fan I am today and we sang this at her funeral yesterday. Not gonna lie I’ve got tears.

Salford cough up the ball with a knock-on just inside their own half, giving Leeds field position for the first meaningful attack of the final.

The Rhinos move forward for a couple of tackles but then Luke Gale has a pass fired miles over his head and, as he attempts to grasp it, knocks on himself.

This final is a bit different as we know, but some traditions remain, such as the singing of "Abide With Me" before kick-off.

Performed by Lizzie Jones on the hills overlooking Huddersfield, the birthplace of rugby league, we've just been watching some of the amazing work done by clubs and players in the community during this toughest of years, and some memorable moments of past Challenge Cup finals.

BBC commentator Dave Woods says it's probably the most poignant rendition in Challenge Cup history.

    It's difficult to disagree.

Salford head coach Ian Watson: told BBC One:

"We're really relaxed and the group are looking forward to it. We got all the fanfare out of the way on Friday, taking pictures for memories. We are ready now to play. This is the fun bit.

"We have got to make our detail good and do this as a team. I think we'll be good today."
