I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did. I think it's fair to say these two sides provided us with a fitting finale to what has been a brilliant Premiership season.

If you'd like to relive all of the action, please do check out Nabil Hassan's fine report from Twickenham.

Otherwise, thanks for joining me and, until next time, goodbye!

A word for Saracens though, who topped the Premiership table for the second successive season but fall short of lifting the trophy. In contrast to Saints, they've now lost the Heineken Cup and Premiership finals in the space of a week. Heartbreak for Mark McCall's men.

Northampton Saints, so often considered the nearly men of English club rugby, really have had a week to remember. Victory in the Amlin Challenge Cup last Friday, and crowned Premiership champions today. Bravo.

"To finish like that, I suppose it's fairytales. It's really, really nice to finish on the winning side.

"We showed similar sort of character in the semi-final against Leicester, down but never short of belief.

"We'll see what it means when we get back tonight. Hopefully we can have a real celebration over the weekend.

... Because Northampton already know they are the Premiership champions for the first time in their history! They needed a last-minute try to see off Leicester in the semis, and they've needed one again here today.

They've done it! Has there ever been a more dramatic ending to a Premiership final? If there has, I didn't see it. It's replacement Alex Waller, at the bottom of a pile of bodies, who squeezes his way through. The TMO takes an age over the decision, but eventually gives it. Stephen Myler's conversion is over, but it doesn't matter...

Northampton are on the attack, switching the ball from side to side. Ben Foden is brought down now, but the ball is nudged forward by Saracens and Saints have a put-in at the scrum. Drop-goal anyone?
