That is another fine, fine try for Northampton, moving the ball forward and touching down within the blink of an eye! After George North's break, it's Stephen Myler's little grubber that creates the chance for George Pisi, who slides over to score. Myler's conversion is also inch perfect, and Saints lead by five.

Andrew Priestley:, external Dylan Hartley has the perfect chance to redeem himself with a strong performance from the bench a year on from THAT red card.

"Finally, a tactical kick worthy of an international player. It was spectacular from Farrell, landing half a foot from the touchline."

Owen Farrell kicks the ball through and finds touch beautifully. Big first throw for Dylan Hartley here, around five metres from his own line, and it's not a good one! Saracens steal the ball but, having worked the ball across to the other side, give the penalty away.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 31 May 2014

Here comes Dylan Hartley then. The Northampton captain was sent off in last year's final, of course. He'll get the final 25 minutes or so having come on for Mike Haywood. Matt Stevens also comes off for Saracens, bringing to an end his English club career. James Johnston replaces him.

Couple of cracking hits by Chris Ashton, so often criticised for his defensive abilities. Ouch, another big one! This time Owen Farrell clatters into George North, stopping the Welshman in his tracks. This is all Northampton, but can they find the breakthrough?

  7. Postpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 31 May 2014

BBC Sport's Nabil Hassan at Twickenham: "There's a definite air of anticipation every time the Saints backs get their hands on the ball, George North in particular looking like he has the measure of the Saracens defence.

"It's a real contrast of styles here at Twickenham but an intriguing contest also."

Wise words from Brian Moore, I'd say. Whenever Saracens have led in this match they've been so keen to kick the ball away, just as Owen Farrell does there. Northampton come forward again.

"If you kick the ball away, you no longer have possession. How do you expect to score if you do that? Words fail me."

Some huge hits coming in now, with Burger again going flying in but Mike Haywood sees him off. But Tom Wood is penalised at the breakdown and Saracens can breathe a rather large sigh of relief - they've really come under some pressure since re-taking the lead.

Here come Northampton on the attack straight from the restart. Saints are really knocking on the door, but Alex Corbisiero is absolutely flattened. What a hit by Jacques Burger! Stephen Myler gathers now but then his pass is to nobody in particular and the ball drifts out of play. Line-out to Sarries.

"Saracens have come out for the second half playing with pace and accuracy, like the side we have seen all season."

Again the angle isn't the most straightforward to overcome, but it's closer to the posts than his previous chances and Owen Farrell splits the posts beautifully. Advantage Sarries.

Saracens come forward once more though, again up to the 22. And they'll have a penalty, and an opportunity for Owen Farrell to restore his side's lead at the start of this second half.

  15. Postpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 31 May 2014

Excellent start from Sarries. They work the ball up to the 22-metre line, clearly not quite so keen to just kick the ball away now they trail. Saints turn the ball over though.

  16. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 31 May 2014

Here we go again then. Owen Farrell gets the second period underway, George North gathers comfortably enough, and we're into the final 40 minutes of the 2013-14 Premiership season.

  17. Postpublished at 15:57 British Summer Time 31 May 2014

Here's a stat to make Saracens fans shiver - only once has a side come from behind at half-time to win the Premiership final. That was 10 years ago when Wasps fought back to beat Bath.

However, given there's only one point in it here and both of these sides won their semi-finals having trailed at the break, I'm not sure that stat counts for a huge amount this time.

BBC Sport's Nabil Hassan at Twickenham: "That scorching break from Ken Pisi has definitely swung the momentum back Northampton's way after a sloppy start from the Saints. As the sun comes out, the Saints fans find their voices as they edge this very tight affair."

    Paul Grayson
Former Northampton and England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

"Precision is one of the things that Saracens have built their play on this season but they've been imprecise on more than one occasion today.

"Both half-time team talks should be similar because both teams are making much more ground with the ball in hand."

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 31 May 2014

Saracens give it a good old push, but Saints hold strong and Stephen Myler kicks for touch. JP Doyle's whistle brings a close to this first period. If I had to pick a word to describe that opening 40 minutes, I reckon I'd plump for 'tense'.
