England have been beaten out of shape by the All Blacksmiths - Aaron, Ben and Conrad have each been superb.

New Zealand are again on the attack and captain Richie McCaw goes over the line, but he's on his back and cannot get the ball down.

  2. TRY (Brown, con Farrell)published at 10:07 British Summer Time 14 June 2014

Give this England team credit, they will not lie down and Mike Brown surely has scored there?

He has - after an agonising wait for the TMO to decide there is no reason the referee cannot award the try after the Harlequins full-back goes over with two All Blacks wrapped around him.

Owen Farrell - back off the naughty step - converts and there's only eight points in it.

"England are just going to have to look at this as small targets. They need to put pressure on the All Blacks. There is still plenty of time left. England have the firepower to give the All Blacks trouble. They just need to get their hands on the ball."

  4. Get involvedpublished at 10:03 British Summer Time 14 June 2014

Viv Powers:, external England are resembling the Christmas turkey at the moment - totally carved apart!!

Paddy Emmerson: , externalThe All Blacks are showing why they are best team in the world, absolutely relentless. Just have to watch and admire.

Daniel D'Urso:, external 'New Zealand are throwing everything at England right now'. Got that right comms, forward passes included! This ref is awful!

  5. TRY (Nonu, con Barrett )published at 09:59 British Summer Time 14 June 2014

Thanks for coming England, and nice of you to bring presents as well.

Scrum-half Danny Care - with England down to 14 men and on the rack - tries a 20m box kick from deep inside his own 22.

Admittedly he's near the touchline but rather than go for distance he just invites the All Blacks to go straight back on the attack.

A couple of simple passes find the yawning gaps out wide on the other side of the pitch and Conrad Smith's long pass gives Ma'a Nonu the chance to step inside two covering defenders and score, with Beauden Barrett converting from out wide.

"England need to catch their breath and get control of this game. They cannot kick loosely to the All Black forwards anymore."

New Zealand have entered that elemental state only the world champions seem capable of summoning.

England are eight points and a man down, this could get much, much worse for the visitors.

  8. PENALTY (Barrett)published at 09:53 British Summer Time 14 June 2014

The black-clad hosts are a childhood nightmare incarnate.

Again and again they come, big runner after big runner making ground time and again, and although England prevent a try it is only by conceding penalty after penalty.

Owen Farrell stops one attack on the line but he is penalised and sent to the sin-bin, with Beauden Barrett slotting the penalty.

  9. MISSED PENALTY (Barrett)published at 09:48 British Summer Time 14 June 2014

The All Blacks are coming at England with the relentless force of a big Southern Ocean swell hammering into the Dunedin coastline.

England only survive a stunning length-of-the-field attack as Conrad Smith's final pass narrowly fails to go to hand with the line begging.

And there's another let-off as replacement fly-half Beauden Barrett - on for Aaron Cruden - hits the post with a penalty.

"I don't know if it's a bit of fatigue in the England team. We go from creating an overlap on the left-hand side before being shown how to do it and being turned over. Everyone is under the illusion that the All Blacks do something radically different but they don't. They just run straight and time their passes perfectly."

"That's the All Blacks at their best. They're so dangerous. Marland Yarde did what you can't do, he kicked loosely to Ben Smith. In the end, it was easy for Julian Savea to just walk it in the corner."

  12. TRY (Savea, missed con)published at 09:43 British Summer Time 14 June 2014

Superb, absolutely superb from the hosts.

Ben Smith starts things with a soaring catch and Aaron Smith cuts England apart with a sublime dummy. He makes 30m and although Owen Farrell takes him down, the visitors are floundering and the All Blacks pounce. They switch the ball at pace to the left and Ma'a Nonu commits a couple of defenders.

His pass bobbles along the ground but it reaches Julian Savea in space and no-one is going to stop him from there.

  13. PENALTY (Farrell)published at 09:40 British Summer Time 14 June 2014

This England side refuses to be beaten. They get on top at a scrum. The All Blacks fold and Owen Farrell slots the resulting penalty.

"The All Blacks are renowned for being relentless and if there is a turnover, they are always ready to attack. When Aaron Cruden went through the gap, he passes to Julian Savea immediately. He then passed it to Ben Smith to score, rather than take on the full-back."

Sublime. Turn the ball over against New Zealand and prepare to pay the price.

Billy Twelvetrees forces a pass midway inside the New Zealand half and the supporting Tom Wood is unable to take it.

New Zealand work the ball across midfield to Aaron Cruden and he injects the pace, dummying past Ben Morgan and feeding winger Julian Savea on the flank.

The powerful All Black could probably have scored on his own but he finds Ben Smith ranging up inside and the full-back scores by the posts, making the conversion a formality.

"Every team would miss Dan Carter [who made his return after a six-month sabbatical earlier today] but Aaron Cruden is one of the best players on this field tonight because he's shown a great variety of skills. He's an outstanding footballer. Dan Carter is not the reason New Zealand are behind. It's because England are playing a little bit better and have scored the only try of the game."

England immediately look to get Manu Tuilagi on the ball as he comes off his wing into midfield, but New Zealand are up to the challenge this time.

  18. Postpublished at 09:34 British Summer Time 14 June 2014

England have looked dangerous but a big failing has been their inability to get Manu Tuilagi into the game - the only time he had the ball in space was from a New Zealand knock on.

It's like having a Bentley and leaving it in the garage - come on England, let's got for a spin!

Owen Farrell gets us back under way.

"To play against the All Blacks, you have to look to play and look to take them on in the forwards, which has worked out well. Billy Twelvetrees has been great in the centre. I think you want to see Manu get the ball a bit more, but England have to be pleased.

"The interesting thing is both sides are pretty evenly matched. England look dangerous, New Zealand look dangerous. This is going to go right down to the wire."

"England definitely deserve the lead, they have scored the only try of the game. You have to give it to England, their attack and defence has been good. They deserve to be four points ahead. I think that's a fair indication of match."
