  1. HALF-TIMEpublished at 09:26 British Summer Time 14 June 2014

Well, how about that for a first 40 minutes of England's super-dooper sporting Saturday.

Inventive, ambitious, skilful and powerful, Stuart Lancaster's men have really taken it to New Zealand.

They had the better of the opening 20 minutes but failed to finish off a couple of chances and the All Blacks have come back at them hard.

Both sides are making mistakes but both are playing with pace and creativity and this really is up for grabs. Cracking 40 minutes so far.

  3. PENALTY (Cruden)published at 09:21 British Summer Time 14 June 2014

Wouldn't you know it. With seconds remaining before the break there is a scrum in the England half and the visiting eight, so powerful in this phase last weekend, are penalised as New Zealand get a shove on.

Up steps Aaron Cruden, over goes the ball and the gap is down to four.

Here come the All Blacks but Cory Jane drops a pass 10m from the England line. Manu Tuilagi picks up and has 90m to go to score.

The England wing is quick, certainly over the first 40m-50m, but Ben Smith is flying across to tackle him. He cuts him down 10m from the All Blacks line and the hosts clear.

All the fun of the fair - what a game!

New Zealand attack off a turnover and Aaron Smith, Liam Messam and Cory Jane combine beautifully, but the final pass does not go to hand and Owen Farrell counters from his own 22.

He beats one and then feeds tight-head prop David Wilson, who produces a super clearing kick which bounces in to touch inside the New Zealand half - that's the way you do it Danny.

"I think the England defence is very good, but don't get carried away, there is only one try in this at the moment. It is by no means over."

Julian Savea treats Marland Yarde like a speed bump - he's a powerful unit is the All Black 11.

Play goes on through phase after phase, with England kicking it deep every time they get possession in their own 22, and letting the All Blacks run it back with intent.

Eventually the hosts knock-on but this game is rattling along at the moment.

"I think England will be happy with the first half hour. There have been mistakes from both teams in the last 15-20 minutes. I have never seen an All Blacks team make so many mistakes."

    And that's a big let-off for England.

The tourists pick off an interception through captain Chris Robshaw but when they spin the ball down the line, Billy Twelvetrees throws out a pass without looking and it hits the on-rushing Conrad Smith.

He was looking the other way in order to tackle his man - had he been looking at Tweveltrees that would have been a jog to the posts for the All Black centre.

Both sides are playing with real attacking intent but at the moment the defences are holding firm - just.

England win a line-out and drive 15m but then lose control as Danny Care tries to skips away from the base, loses the ball and is then penalised for holding on when he recovers it. That's a let-off for the All Blacks who can clear from near their 22.

For the second time in five minutes England scrum-half Danny Care chips into the 22 to try to pin the hosts back, and for the second time the kick is out - albeit narrowly - on the full.

Frustrating for the visitors, that's really killed their momentum.

"I think England have chosen to take on the New Zealand forwards and shown a lot of endeavour in the first 20 minutes of this match. The referee has been pretty strict on the breakdown. England have looked after the ball very well and have looked to play."

  14. MISSED PENALTY (Farrell)published at 08:59 British Summer Time 14 June 2014

Oh, that looked promising for the All Blacks as winger Julian Savea rampaged through Chris Robshaw in midfield, but play is called back as Ma'a Nonu takes out Owen Farrell off the ball to create the hole.

The England 10 picks himself off the ground, but pulls his kick.

Chance for Aaron Cruden to cut the gap to four after Sam Whitelock gets over the ball and Mike Brown is penalised for holding on...

England inside centre Billy Twelvetrees makes a lovely break though midfield - he had to watch Kyle Eastmond do the same in the 12 shirt last weekend - but when England recycle Mike Brown's pass to the barrelling Rob Webber is a touch forward.

Third-choice hooker Webber had a big game last weekend and he's started well once more, both in the tight and the loose.

"England couldn't have made a better start, the line-out drive is causing New Zealand a lot of problems. The referee has warned them that the next will be a sin-binning. It's been a lively start from Marland Yarde, Richie McCaw missing Yarde, which we're not used to seeing, and a good try."

  18. PENALTY (Cruden)published at 08:48 British Summer Time 14 June 2014

It's been all England for the first 10 minutes but the All Blacks finally mount an attack, Ma'a Nonu making good ground, and when England go offside Aaron Cruden gets the hosts on the board.

"Unbelievable work. It looks like a perfect try. I'm excited. The thing about the All Blacks is you have to take your opportunities. They got into their 22 twice and they've come away with points twice."
