    Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, for today the game's afoot for England not once, not twice, but thrice.

    We get under way as the rugby union team face world champions New Zealand, continue with the cricket team tackling Sri Lanka at Lord's and conclude with the footballers in action against Italy in the World Cup in Brazil.

    So follow your spirit and upon this charge, cry "come on Chris! Alastair! And Steven Gerrard!"
