More fat to chew than a jumbo pack of value pork scratchings.

I'm sure the debate over what might have been for Scotland, and what will be for Wales for the rest of this year, will rage deep into the night around Edinburgh.

    I'll leave you to it.

A two-week break from Six Nations looms and we resume on 28 February with Scotland v Italy before the two unbeaten sides left in the tournament - England and Ireland - meet the following afternoon.

    See you there.

Ken Milligan: What a frustration. So many chances, such a lack of composure. Another win thrown away. #WorkToBeDone

Aaron Jones: Close! Scotland fought hard but Wales did enough. We'll need to improve again against the French to win.

Alan Wilson: I would rather watch a team winning on merit in such a tight game rather than the ref deciding the outcome.

"Because they have been so used to 'Warrenball' and it has been successful for them, when it does not work, they do not know what to do. I don't think Wales have improved over the last two years - we've not gone backwards, we've just stood still."

"Was referee Glen Jackson the defining factor in the game? I don't know. For me it was the first 20 minutes after half-time where Wales played well and shut the game down."

Scotland coach Vern Cotter: "It is a hard one to take. We were applying pressure and got ourselves in some good situations. We will use this game to move forward into the next game. A little frustrated.

"There were a couple of things that didn't go our way. we can't control that. We will look at developing our game, developing our counter-attack.

"The game is over, we have to take what we can from that. There were marked improvements and we will keep working away."

Wales coach Warren Gatland: "There's satisfaction and relief after the criticism of last week. I think we deserved the result and the victory, but it's difficult to get a result away from home in this championship.

"When we kept the ball we were good, our dominance in the air was good. It was a good Test match, we went out there to play rugby and Scotland did as well. We're relieved to get back on the bike and get a result."

Callum: This referee should never be in charge of an international match again. Disgraceful display.

Beth, Swansea: The rules were cleared up when Wales beat Scotland five years ago. The attacking side have to be in their own half ready for the restart BEFORE 80 minutes hit on the clock. Stephen Jones ran his heart out just to get over the halfway line. The Scottish 10 did no such thing and was still wandering in the Welsh half.

Can anyone confirm this? I don't remember the incident myself. I would have thought it depends more on when the ball goes dead.

    Would'a, should'a, could'a.

Scotland are left to look back on marks for effort, industry and style rather than a winning scoreline on the big board,

They had their chances. They lost this same fixture 51-3 last season, but they will know they could have won this time around.

Jonathan Chase: It's a win for Wales, but it's not looking too great. If Scotland were more clinical it would be a different story

Scotland's Greig Laidlaw: "Disappointed to come up short, we played some good rugby but came up short. Rome was not built in a day, and this team is on a journey with Vern Cotter. I thought the referee forgot how long was on the clock at the end."

  17. Player reactionpublished at 16:54 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2015

Alun Wyn Jones speaking to BBC Sport: "We were unconvincing last week, and again towards the end today but a win's a win. In the last couple of games we've been unconvincing but credit to Scotland, they never gave up."

What a barnstormer of a game, but what does it all mean?

Wales back to winning ways, Scotland with another creditable performance but a shortage of killer instinct.

And was time really up when Glen Jackson blew for full time?

A replay of Finn Russell's conversion shows it fly over the posts and dead with 79:56 on the clock.

Wales should have had to kick back to the hosts with a slender three-point lead.

    Full-time

"Extreme disappointment for Scotland. They fought so hard and played wonderful rugby for 95 metres of the field. Just those last last few metres, they were knocking on the door but couldn't get over. They left it too late.

"Wales deserved the victory but Scotland will feel hard done by. The penalties conceded ultimately cost Scotland.

"It was always going to be very close. When you score right at the end, you will think 'why didn't we score earlier?' This was a game perhaps they could have won, more likely should have won."
