Scotland show that they can do a big of biff and bang - bringing in Alex Dunbar on a crash ball from the midfield. Liam Williams gathers Finn Russell's chip over the top though, calling a mark and thumping a kick back up towards halfway.

Former Wales fly-half on BBC One

"Blair Cowan knew what he was doing there, did not roll away and got away with it. Typical open side flanker!

"Scotland have to be happy, maybe not having the territory but they are using the ball very effectively. They look far more confident this season."

It was a great cover tackle from Stuart Hogg that cut down Rhys Webb just as the Wales scrum-half's eyes lit up with the sight of the whitewash.

Scotland have to take some three-point damage though as Leigh Halfpenny punishes an infringement at a ruck.

Here comes the Wales backlash. Rhys Webb hauled down as he makes a clean break from Leigh Halfpenny's offload, Liam Williams tackled just short....

Gethin Jenkins off his feet and bang in front. Advantage Scotland and, after Rob Harley fails to gather his skipper's grubber, Greig Laidlaw plonks the penalty through the posts for a seven-point lead.

"Those are the opportunities Scotland have to take, that is a no-brainer that you have to score at international level. With the ball in hand that is a run-in any day of the week."

    All Scotland.

Finn Russell's delayed pass sets Alex Dunbar scampering through a hole in the Wales defence. The crowd roar in expectation, but the centre's pass is batted to the safety of touch by a Welsh hand.

Wales are all over the shop at the moment.

BBC Wales' Dafydd Pritchard at Murrayfield: "Just as Wales looked to be building momentum , Alex Cuthbert is turned over and the ball is swept out to Stuart Hogg, who seems to be powered by the sheer noise of Murrayfield as he speeds clear for the game's opening try.

"It's fair to say that was against the run of play but the home crowd won't care a bit. They are delirious."

Scotland are pouring the pressure on a rattled Wales side. Clean ball off the top of the line-out inside the Wales 22 metre, but a fumble from Greig Laidlaw as he tries to get the backs flying hands possession back to the red shirts.

BBC Sport's Sara Orchard at The Stoop: "Italy are reduced to 14 women in the second half as fly-half Beatrice Rigoni takes one for the team and is sent to the bin for persistent infringements at the breakdown.

"It's a similar story to the first half though as England spend 10 minutes on the Italian line and come away with nothing - other than a lost GPS tracker that was chucked our way into the stands."

    Stuart Hogg

"It was amazing, I sensed that try was on for Scotland. They were very much in control of the breakdown situation. Richie Gray stole the ball and Wales were out on their feet. If you want to give it one man who can run 60 yards, it's Stuart Hogg."

You are not going to catch Stuart Hogg with a clear corridor to the Wales line.

The Scotland full-back revs up and roars away to score under the sticks after great work from Richie Gray and Finn Russell to nick the ball at the breakdown.

The Wales forwards just looked like they ran out of puff there, failing to get to the ruck in enough numbers or with enough energy.

  16. Scotland 0-3 Walespublished at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2015

BBC Wales' Dafydd Pritchard at Murrayfield: "It's been a lively start at Murrayfield. Both anthems were sung with spine-tingling gusto and a frantic opening has kept the fans roaring.

Wales' line-out looks to have continued where it left off against England last weekend - a little loose - but the visitors have the lead thanks to the boot of Leigh Halfpenny."

  17. Postpublished at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2015

Scotland are having to do plenty of tackling. Jamie Roberts crunches into Richie Gray, before Liam Williams almost squirms clear up the left wing. Wales just short of the Scotland 22 as the phases rack up...

    Leigh Halfpenny

"Food and drink for Leigh halfpenny. I love watching this guy play, he is so composed, so in control, doing things with minimum of fuss."

"Halfpenny is the best goal kicker in the world, and that's two penalties to Wales in the first five minutes. That came from Wales reverting to type."

  20. Penaltypublished at 15:09 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2015

Blair Cowan commando-rolls out of a ruck on the wrong side. Rhys Webb is incredulous as the Scottish flanker impedes his attempt to get the ball away from the base.

Ref Glen Jackson sees his point and awards the penalty. It is a lovely spot for Leigh Halfpenny and he splits the sticks from a slight angle.
