David Hettle: Scotland are so slow to the breakdown, that's the difference between them and the top teams!

Martyn Richmond: Isn't rugby great when teams decide to attack rather than kick the ball to each other?

Ben Turner: Worst thing about today is that all England fans have to cheer on Scotland for the day. Still, COME ON YOU SCOTS.

Ireland line-out, Ireland penalised. It's an area of concern for Joe Schmidt's side. Seymour with a cheeky grubber with the outside of the boot and the ball eventually ends up in Hogg's hands after a defensive mix-up, Kearney it was who failed to gather.

And here's Russell with his first try for Scotland, the Glasgow fly-half scurrying over in the left-hand corner before touching down nearer the posts. Laidlaw makes the extras, and Ireland's Six Nations hopes take a backwards step.

"With Scotland number eight David Denton's barnet, you could imagine him on synths in a New Romantic band. Perhaps in a Spandau-style kilt."

O'Connell on the charge, now comes Healy, but the ball is spilled. Hamilton sells a dummy and goes on a gallop... hands the ball back to Ireland. O'Brien through again - some of this Scottish tackling is of the gentle persuasion - and now comes Bowe, haring into the Scotland 22... Scotland regain possession before Scott is hustled into touch.

George Asprey: As an England fan, how hard did you cheer that last Italian try?

Bryn Wilkes: I get the feeling that three million Welsh men and women are now scrambling for any piece of blue clothing for the next few hours.

Jonathan Flowers: Loving the polite grace of many of the England fans on twitter just now. #chortle

Egans mind: There was me getting all excited about the Welsh win, then I forgot how rubbish Scotland are.

Craig: I'm sure there is always a good reason to beat France 100-0, but now looks like a very good occasion.

Richard Greenhorn: Ten minutes in and Ireland are halfway to their winning target! Worried Wales?

"That is a soft try to concede by Scotland. Scotland would have been expecting Ireland to maul that - they weren't expecting that quick off-load. This is already panning out like the game in Rome."

O'Brien goes over for his fourth try for Ireland, straight from the back of the line-out. Toner with the take, Leinster flanker O'Brien straight through some weak Scottish tackling. Sexton with the extras, this is getting interesting.

Fitzgerald goes flying down the left wing after Henshaw spots space down the short side. Henshaw gets it back again but puts a foot in touch. Laidlaw clears but it's somewhat sliced and it's an Ireland line-out bang on the Scotland 22.

"Ireland will still be happy to have a seven-point lead after 17 minutes. They realise they have to put in a 60-minute shift before breaking Scottish resistance - if they manage to do that at all. But they still can't think about the margin - they have to concentrate on getting the win."

Payne pinged for dragging Ashe down in the air, might have been worse for the Ireland centre. Russell with the half-break for Scotland, Bennett has a dart, it's all Scotland all of a sudden. But it's an Ireland penalty, not releasing, the visitors clear their lines.

Scotland scrum in the Ireland 22. Euan Murray is off permanently, he has a broken hooter. Geoff Cross packing down in the front row. Scott comes barrelling into the line but he's tackled in midfield. Bennett with some nice broken field running, he feeds Visser, who makes a few yards. Penalty Scotland, player on the wrong side.

  17. Points difference - the big questionpublished at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2015

Steven Briggs: What happens if Ireland win by 20 points and England win by 16, leaving everything the same for all three sides?

James Neill: What if points difference is the same? Joint winners???

If the teams are level on points difference, the number of tries scored throughout the tournament is the clincher. The current totals are Wales: 13, England: 11, Ireland: 5.

Scotland try to get a maul rolling but there is stout defence from Ireland. Ball goes wide to Visser but you often pay the price for going wide nowadays, the Edinburgh man is dragged into touch in the Ireland 22.

Naughty grubber from Sexton and Henshaw scoops it up. Euan Murray is down, having taken a blow to the snozzle. As, indeed, is Dougie Fife. Cross and Visser thrown on as blood replacements.
