Job done? Time to take the foot off the pedal? Not yet.

Replacement Gareth Davies looks forlorn as he fumbles an interception. He would have been under the sticks and buried England and Ireland's hopes another seven points deep.

"Unbelievable! Italy have spilt the ball in driving line out but then Jonathan Davies gets going. Look at the numbers Wales have in support. It is explosive.

"Nothing has gone right for Italy but Wales have been clinical and grown in confidence."

It is like the pitch is tilted towards one end.

Italy were within a point at the break and have been left for dead in this second half.

They spill the ball within sight of the Wales line and in a twinkle the visitors sweep downfield and Scott Williams is the beneficiary as they red shirts outnumber blue.

Huge task for Ireland and England now.

Points difference: Wal +60, Ire +33, Eng +37

Jonnie Horden: Italy now playing 14 men against 16.

Nick Duxbury: Italy need to sort out their discipline, can't believe how poor they have been second half.

David Bunyard: The referee in the Italy-Wales game is making some very odd decisions. I thought I understood this game after 40-plus years.

Elin Rees: Funny reading all the tweets from English supporters criticising the ref. Getting worried?

Kara Griffiths: Listening and not watching - could someone confirm that Italy have actually come back to the field after half time?

"I've never seen a performance like this in one half. It is without a doubt Wales' greatest performance in this Six Nations. They have been criticised for having no plan B - today everything has come off.

"I think Wales have got enough points now. England and Ireland are good sides but France and Scotland won't capitulate like Italy have done."

Former Wales wing John Devereux: What a great sub to have on the bench. Nice to see Ken Owens back and looking fit.

Austin Healey, former England back: Wow. Amazing 40 from the Welsh - game on.

Former Wales prop Scott Quinnell: Rhys Webb - great power. He has had a great championship.

Wales are just eviscerating Italy now.

Sam Warburton strides through, throws back his head, sniffs the whitewash and outpaces the cover.

Biggar with a gimme of a conversion and Wales are 16 points ahead of England on points difference. Twenty points ahead of Ireland.

"Unbelievable play from Rhys Webb. I thought he had gone the wrong way down the blind side. But it is sheer confidence - the Wales team is oozing confidence.

"Get the calculators out. It is vital that Wales don't concede any points. They need to keep Italy at bay."

Never mind putting themselves in the mix, Wales are in danger of running away with the title in the next 15 minutes.

Rhys Webb forces his way through some half-hearted tackling from Giovanbattista Venditti to score and there is still some eight minutes of power play to go.

Points difference: Wal +46, Ire +33, Eng +37

Just impossible to say. Fortunately for Wales, play is pulled back for a penalty in their favour.

Dan Biggar kicks into the corner and asks for a repeat from his forwards. And a better camera angle.

Alun Wyn Jones under a bundle of bodies. He is over the line, but you would need an infra-red camera and x-ray vision to determine if he got the ball down.

The TMO is going to give it a go.

"Wales have caught fire in this second half. They have got to keep going and not take their foot off the Italians' throat. That what New Zealand do - they just keep going."
