I reckon that we could get a few snap drop-goal conversions from Wales in the last 10 minutes in Rome if they need to both score points and save time.

Quick line-outs? Channel one ball out the back of the scrum? How else might today's teams maximise their time and chances to rack up a big score?

BBC Wales Sport Lauren Jenkins: "They come behind the football, the formula 1, the cycling and the basketball, but today's rugby headlines finally make it on to page 37 of the 'Gazzetta dello Sport' newspaper. For them it's all about one man - 'Big George' as the locals know him."

"Former Italy lock Carlo del Fava tells ex-Wales captain Martyn Williams 'page 37 is quite good for the day's rugby news, it's usually at the back with the obituaries'."

So, time to look at the first of our title contenders. How have Wales turned around the tanker from their deflating opening-day defeat by England to start today as potential champions?

    6 Feb: Wales 16-21 England

    15 Feb: Scotland 23-26 Wales

    28 Feb: France 13-20 Wales

    14 Mar: Wales 23-16 Ireland

They are on a points difference of 12, compared to Ireland's +33 and England's +37.

John Potter: Taking no risks on #bbc6nations final day. English meat, Italian pasta and Scottish biscuits for afters.

Rob Cox: If Wales go full out in Rome, it leaves the rest no choice but to throw it around. Could be fantastic viewing.

Lily Dyer: Feel so guilty watching an afternoon of rugby inside when the weather's so beautiful outside.

The trophy might not have made it to all of today's games. Fortunately the BBC cameras and transmitters have.

You don't need to twitch a remote control finger. The schedules have been cleared with all three games front and centre on BBC One.

The original, genuine Six Nations trophy will be at Twickenham - where England, or improbably France, could lift it after the final match of the day.

A replica will be on hand at Murrayfield to pass into the giant paws of Paul O'Connell if Ireland emerge from this final-day logjam victorious.

And, without a third incarnation of the trophy, if Wales win, they will have to wait until their return to Hensol Castle, Vale of Glamorgan on Sunday to get the silverware should they complete a turnaround from first-day defeat to final-day champions.

Even the organisers have been caught on the hop by this grandstand finish to the tournament.
