    Chris Jones
BBC rugby reporter on Radio 5 live sports extra

"That's Leigh Halfpenny's 57th point of the Championship. There will be no surprise that he is way out in front on the points-scoring chart."

    Martyn Williams
Former Wales captain on BBC One

"Definitely the right decision to go for the three points. Go for the win first, then try to rack up the points."

Dominic Byrne: England have the main advantage playing last .. but I think Ireland must be favourites to win it and I think they will.

Haf Wilmore: I'd be overjoyed if Wales pulled off a great big win and took the title but it's so dependent on how the other two play. All my fingers and toes are crossed.

Sandy Hamilton: England will win unless Wales really hammer Italy. Ireland will get a harder game at Murryfield that people are making out.

    Not disciplined enough.

An Italian strays past the back foot and Leigh Halfpenny lands his 20th out of 24 kicks in this year's Six Nations.

Points difference as it stands: Wal: +12, Ire 33, Eng, +37

Italy have turned up for this.

Some disciplined tackling, chopping down the red surges as Wales batter around the Italy 22m line.

    Robert Jones
Former Wales scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

"That's good defensive work from the Italians. They look like they're not going to go down without a fight.

"It's early on. Wales just need to build and build and be in control coming in to half-time. In the second half they need to pour on the points."

  8. Postpublished at 12:37 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2015

    Martyn Williams
Former Wales captain on BBC One

"It has not been an ideal start for Wales, but you have to give credit to Italy. They are up for this and, defensively, are fine off the line.

"But it is about patience from Wales, grinding out the first 30/40 minutes then seeing where you are."

Kelly Haimona makes the mistake of getting in the way of a charging Jamie Roberts on the crash ball. And that looks like it might be the end of the Italy fly-half's afternoon.

His left arm was twanged back in the joint and he departs in a sling to be replaced by Luciano Orquera.

  10. Postpublished at 12:37 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2015

Richard Williams, BBC Wales Sport in Rome: "A lot of Welsh fans had trouble making it to Rome because of an air traffic controllers' strike on Friday, and in fact many didn't make it.

"The red hordes that did negotiate their way through the tangle are making their presence felt, but the home fans are enjoying this early lead."

Liam Williams goes bottom over bosom as he goes up for a high ball. The Italian chaser looked like he made an honest attempt to win the ball otherwise it could have been card time.

Dan Biggar wallops the penalty up to the Italy 22m. Wales are hunting the big points prizes already.

  12. Postpublished at 12:32 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2015

    Martyn Williams
Former Wales captain on BBC One

"All week Wales have talked about a big start and keeping discipline - and the first thing they do is give away a penalty! Not an ideal start."

Ian Davies: Blimey, that's the quickest Welsh anthem I've ever heard. Are the Italians in a rush or something?

Simon Daniels: This Italian band eager to get home or something?

William Searle: Full marks to Sam Warburton for being able to sing the national anthem in time with the band. He is the ultimate man.

A terrible start for Wales. Some unsubtle blocking in front of the catcher from Wales, an immediate penalty and Kelly Haimona's wobbly kick finds its way over.

Points difference as it stands: Wal: +9, Ire +33, Eng +37

Twenty five points down on England, 21 points down on Ireland and 0-0 with Italy.

We are under way with Kelly Haimona booting up to the Wales 22-metre line.

    Shane Williams
Former Wales winger on BBC One

"Defensively Wales have to be equally as good as they were against Ireland.

"Yes, Wales have to score plenty but they don't want concede any. If they defend like last week and pick off Italy's mistakes - they can be dangerous."

  18. Postpublished at 12:28 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2015

    Shane Williams
Former Wales winger on BBC One

"To give ourselves a realistic chance of winning the championship we need to win by 40 - anything more than that is a bonus. If we can break their spirit maybe we can open up a bit in the second half."

  19. Postpublished at 12:28 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2015

BBC Wales Sport's Richard Williams in Rome: "It's nowhere near full, but the crowd made a good noise when Italy took the field. That version of the Welsh national anthem was a little fast and wrong-footed much of the Welsh contingent here."

After being served up a dog of a game - a 29-0 defeat by France - last time out, it is a little patchy spectator-wise at the Stadio Olimpico.

Anthem time and the hosts get a full length version while Wales have to make do with the radio edit of their national tune.
