    Hat-trick time.

Julian Savea had to prove his fitness before he was picked for this tournament - the thought being that he was carrying a bit of timber.

He is wearing it well if so.

The All Black wing zooms away for his third try after Dane Coles strips the ball from Noa Nakaitaci out wide.

    Dan Carter converts.

Sam Whitelock stretches his long arms over the top to tie Thierry Dusautoir into the back of a maul as the French attempt to shove over from a line-out five metres out.

If Picamoles had been on, those tentacles would have been trimmed. He isn't though and that is a turnover.

Sonny Bill Williams is going to get a chance to pulverise this tenderised French defence to mush.

Where do you go from there? I have run out of platitudes regarding the handling of New Zealand tonight."

The extra man on the pitch is showing already.

With Louis Picamoles in the bin, France are horribly short-staffed as Ben Smith skips down the left wing.

As the ball is recycled back the other way, Owen Franks flips a lovely pass on for Jerome Kaino to dive into the corner.

    You lucky, lucky garcon.

Brice Dulin comes over all Clement Poitrenaud in the 2004 Heineken Cup final, taking an age over a clearing kick under little pressure.

He is charged down, but the bouncing ball just beats Ben Smith to drop dead.

I saw that as a punch, he may have come up on a short run up but a punch is a punch. It was unnecessary."

Something erupts around a prone Richie McCaw on the floor.

Replays suggest that Louis Picamoles has pushed his fist across the face of the All Black skipper.

If it was a punch, it was from one inch. Bruce Lee would have done some damage, Picamoles has not.

Richie McCaw does what Richie McCaw does, sneaking in like a cat burgler to nab a turnover just when his team needed it.
