"Italy just need to be patient. One chance might come. Maybe try to get a penalty or go for the drop-goal. I've been very impressed with Italy today. I thought they've played exceptionally well and varied their play a lot. I've been very disappointed with France. They haven't had a platform to play an expansive game."

"I thought that penalty was a harsh decision. But that was an absolute belter of a kick from Jules Plisson."

When did Paris move to altitude?

Jules Plisson clubs an absolute monster of a penalty, from on the angle and near halfway to put France back in front.

Sergio Parisse was penalised for playing the ball on the floor. Marginal.

"Francesco Minto has been exceptional. His workrate has been unreal. He's playing the best I've seen him since he came back from his neck injury. He's been an absolute workhorse."

    Cool as a cucumber.

The ball cartwheels over the sticks and Italy are back in front!

Prop Uini Atonio gets his mitts dirty as he goes off his feet.

Kelly Haimona steps up. Thirty-eight metres out...

What can Italy do from here?

They have a long way to come.

Sergio Parisse fields a kick that stops just short of his own line and tries to run it out.

JP Doyle pings France for a penalty as they chase up.

    Italy line-out up near halfway.

"Looking at the last two kicks of Jules Plisson I can't understand why Sebastien Bezy started on kicks. He's nailed the last two."

That was a 24-carat banker of a kick. Strong and very long - as the loo roll advert used to say - as he lands it with space to spare on the crossbar and both posts.

    France in front.

    That looked a tough call.

JP Doyle rules that Italy were a little over-eager in getting their hands on the tackled man. Looked there for the grabbing to me.

Anyway, Jules Plisson is going to take a pop at goal - just outside the Italy 10m line, pretty straight, here we go...

I'm not sure you would call Martin Castrogiovanni a cool head - but the veteran prop - formerly of Leicester - is on to add his experience for Italy.

    Italy are reverting to stereotype.

The defensive discipline is fraying as they come steaming up in defence out wide and are almost caught out once again.

They can win this game if they keep it tight and tactical.

Sean Elliott: So on this performance so far, does Jeremy Guscott still think France will finish second?

James Hill: Horrible defence from Italy for that last try. Lack of experience there.

Dennis M: Great to see France back to being mercurial.

France are building up a head of steam.

But some of it dissipates as captain Guilhem Guirado spills forward from a pop pass from Yacouba Camara.

The French national anthem gets a blast as there is an injury hold-up.

Still some work to do mes amis.

"When France play at pace they are dangerous. That is a try that should not have been scored. The communication was poor from Italy with too many players going for the same man. They had enough defenders there."

And it is a one-point ball game.

Hugo Bonneval - excellent as the main man in Downton Abbey - profits as Italy mis-match their men in defence out wide.

    Jules Plisson adds two more.

Twenty to go. Who wants to call this one?
